He's 84 now, and pretty fit for a guy his age, but he's starting to show signs that the time to take them is approaching. I don't envy the siblings who'll be tasked with doing it.
I am sure things vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction but in the one I am in over 80 you have to reapply every 2nd year for the license to continue. You have to do the written test and attend an hour long class to review things. If they determine a road test is needed you have to do that too. Me personally I would do it yearly and be much more stringent including every driver but that is just me. I have an elderly aunt and after her 3rd test at 84 she failed the visual and while she was upset she got over it eventually.
