That is really interesting. I know restaurant food has a lot of preservatives, additives, things they use in preparation, junk, and things that go bump in the night (namely your stomach). It surely is poison to that family, as well as the rest of us that consume it. With what information you’ve imparted to me, it’s really given me a kick in the butt to make me take a serious look at what I’m eating. Because of my serious disabilities I don’t cook much, but boy-howdy I am going to start eating steamed vegetables and cook my own chicken from now on.
Yechhh! Tripe (cow tongue) soup? My spouse and I were friends with a couple who liked to cook tripe in their Crock-Pot. I was like eeeewwwwww~
I need to lose about 20 pounds, and I know if I eat veggies and lean meat I will. I’m a serious carnivore. Did you hear about the story that the gov’mint is going to try to outlaw the consumption of red meat? You know it’s going to go to meat altogether, then eventually to grazing and then some kind of ‘nutritional’ slop-portion however many times a day they allow. Sweet mercy, this nation is flying apart with a madman at the controls.

Google flavor enhancers and see what you get. Then avoid all that crap and see if you feel better.

Watch the movie “The beautiful truth”. The full movie used to be on Youtube. We own it on DVD. It’s about a guy named Gerson who is said to have developed a cure for Cancer in the 1920’s or 30’s. It’s about masticating juicers and coffee enemas.

And a few years after we bought the video we became acquaintances of a 30 something woman who had stage 4 breast cancer and was completely cured without doctors. After some discussion it turns out she used the Gerson method.

We have not had health care insurance since Jan 1, 2014 and are in our 60’s. We swear by the masticating juicer. We also have a huge garden and grow our on beef and also enjoy a lot of venison.

And my band turned me on to some articles about raw milk that are worth reading. As with so many government food edicts, the laws against it are based on BS - and supporting the “big business” dairy industry. The tools they use to stop people from selling and consuming raw milk are draconian. To sell it you have to sell shares in your cows. And the FDA will actually watch a farm and when the father and mother leave they’ll drive up and interview/intimidate the children to see if there is any “illegal selling” going on.

Amazing stuff.

Tripe (cow tongue) soup?

I though tripe was the stomach lining.

My Mom and her sister absolutely love tongue. It is their favorite dish. They say it is the most tender roast you will ever have. My Dad, thankfully, hates it so I have no memory of eating it as a child, though my Mom assures me I did. She just told us it was a roast.

Regarding allergic reactions, I developed an allergy to penicillins (same reaction as your niece) half way through my prescription. Doctor told me you can become allergic to anything at anytime, it makes it very hard to pinpoint what exactly is causing the reaction. I tested with the next dose of meds and immediately had the same reaction-I know for certain it was the culprit.

If they really wanted to know they could see an allergist for testing. It’s expensive and I’m not sure how many uncommon allergens they can test for. My son has had the pin prick on the back test for environmental allergens (36 out of 40 reacted!) and another had a blood test for food and environmental allergens. If it is a hard to identify and rare allergen they usually just make sure you have the meds you need for an allergic reaction at all times as identifying the allergen can be very costly endeavor.
