Thirty-one people were arrested after Kentucky fans set fires in Lexington, police said, after the Wildcats' undefeated streak came to a stunning end at the hands of Wisconsin in the NCAA tournament Saturday.

Sporadic fires were seen being set as the large crowd, chanting anti-Wisconsin slogans, gathered on State Street, which is adjacent to the University of Kentucky's Lexington Campus.

Lexington Police Department spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said the crowd set fire to multiple objects, while a number of people were injured — some of whom were transported to a local hospital for treatment. None of the injuries were serious, Roberts said.

Wait a minute -- you're not allowed to riot unless you win...

A significant portion of the tix here (Indpls) were purchased by Wildcat fans. I wonder if there will be some cheapies on the resale market for Monday night?

I didn’t realize it was possible for a black person to make a racial slur.

Black player calls white opponent a “nigga,” and the white hooligan fans riot. Sad.

Seriously, that’s it?

That’s downright hilarious. OK, so maybe racist, but at least in a humorous way.

Unlike KY fans in Lexington, he didn’t burn the place down. I HATE that ‘fans’ always seem to think part of the game, win or lose, involves burning down the school’s host town.

You can look at the 2 rosters, Kentucky has a lot of players from across the USA:

http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/teams/roster/UK/kentucky-wildcats (It looks like only 3 from the state of Kentucky)

Like last year, Wisconsin seems to have players from much closer to the University:

http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/teams/roster/WISC/wisconsin-badgers (7 from Wisconsin, most of the others from nearby States)

If your program attracts the best, good. Kentucky certainly has the prestige. Still, nice to get some sort of local flavor on your own team.

About as classless as their coach.
And the players some of whom walked off refusing to congratulate the Badger players.
Then there is the player who is quoted as saying,”f that nigger”
Nice

I already saw it is in the news, the Ky. program is looking at the tapes and will be talking to their own players about some comments, that’s in the news.

It is very unhealthy to take sports this seriously. I’m glad Kentucky lost the game. Now maybe people in Kentucky can get back to focusing on their own lives instead of living their lives through a bunch of gangly college kids who should themselves be focusing on their studies. Aren’t final exams coming up soon?
