“Furious 7″ raced to the top of the domestic box office, picking up a massive $143.6 million in its opening weekend.

That establishes a new high-water mark for the month of April, blowing past the $95 million debut of “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” as well as marks the highest grossing kick-off for any film in the “Fast and Furious” franchise. It also ranks ninth among the top ten openings in history.

Audiences flocked to see star Paul Walker in one of his final roles. The actor died in a 2013 car crash at the age of 40 and his work on the film was completed by using digital technology and a series of stand-ins.

Ok for all who say that Hollywood never does a good movie.....Wrong.....this movie was incredible. Absolutely one of the best movies Hollywood has ever put out and yes you can take your children to it. Not a negative word to be said. Absolutely NO liberal nonsense in it. A tribute to Paul Walker at the end was a nice touch. EVERYONE MUST go see this movie. I took the ENTIRE movie today at 5 o'clock and didn't even hesitate. I know some FREEPERS hate Hollywood but this is not the time to hate...it is the time to drive to the movie theater.

I have to admit, I’ve never seen any of the Furious movies.

I’m currently on the Marvel series and am anxious for the new Avengers flick.

But it will be in in the comfort of my home when it’s available. Haven’t been to a theater since I saw the first Lion King with my daughter.

They showed an Avengers preview at the movie this evening....I think it comes out next month. You know the way they come out on DVD so quickly. I would say by mid-Summer both Avengers and Furious 7 will be available. I still like going to the movies but I totally understand why some would not.....even I get fed up sometimes but not today....lol.

Naps,I have never seen any in this series, but I loved Eight Below and was very sad to hear of Paul Walker’s death

Based on your recommendation, I will make sure to catch it. :) F_reepers give great advice!

Had to put an underscore because the auto correct kept putting Creepers. :)

Hmmmm.....
Try to find a parking place in the theater parking lot.
Stand in line to buy overpriced tix.
Stand in line to be admitted to the building.
Stand in line a to buy overpriced popcorn.
Pay outrageous amount for popcorn and soda.
Try to find a seat in the theater.
After finding seats and getting settled, family of eight moves into the row in front of us.
As soon as the movie starts, family of eight breaks out the candy in plastic wrappers. Can't hear the movie.
Someone nearby is farting.
Have to pee. Miss 10 minutes of the movie.
Suddenly the movie is over and I have missed the ending.
Stand in line to exit the theater.

Or I could just pay a few bucks and watch it at home in my underwear drinking a 75 cent beer and 50 cent popcorn.

“...and yes you can take your children to it.”

Unless you mind a bunch of slow-motion shots of females’ exposed rear ends. But aside from that, yes, it was a fun film, and the end was a perfect sendoff for Paul Walker.

I love my local movie theater. Usually close parking, Small lines if any to stand in, never had to stand in line to be admitted into or out of the building (?) Yes tickets are overpriced but I guess worth it for a night out of the house, the big screen, and there’s a keen interest in what I’m seeing (I only go about 3-4 times a year) I put a couple cans of soda and snack mix in my purse, hubby might get a popcorn on occasion, speaking of hubby back when Jurassic park II came out it was cramped, had to sit next to people and so embarrassed when he let a silent one rip, I was afraid my neighbor thought I did it lol:)

I went there this past Sat. and there was ample seating. An hour prior to that we had met some friends at a theater closer to the city and it was so packed it looked like a party going on in the lobby. Went to buy tickets for 3 and the clerk says we won’t be able to sit together, shows me a screen where the only seats available (just 5) were not next to each other. He explained how they now have assigned/reserved seating. Really? I don’t like it:( I hope all theaters don’t adopt this practice.

We avoided the F&F series for years and then one day we were in the mood for some ‘dumb action’ and started watching them. My wife and I were quite surprised at just how good they are. Solidly executed action flicks. Sure plenty of the early action was rough and numbers 2 and 3 were weak but over all the series was quite solid. We are re-watching them this week so we can go see 7 on date night.

I went to see this with the family. Its a good action movie, surprisingly tame in terms of bad language and sex, and had a surprisingly, very well done tribute to Walker at the end. I’d recommend it.

Too funny. My worst experience was seeing “Nabraska”......an older couple behind me talked through the entire film. I couldn’t move because the theater was packed. I was so unhinged and wanted to do them bodily harm so badly......but I kept myself under control barely. I hate that couple to this day.

Absolutely one of the best movies Hollywood has ever put out

That's a bold statement. What's so good about this movie?
