Ah, so just tax private workers even more, on top of the state and local taxes they pay to fund the districts, to pay for extravagant benefits for public employees that the private workers will never receive themselves.
I honestly don't know that much about how public school is funded in other states, but I DO know the teacher's union is strong enough to negotiate higher pensions than can be afforded and that (in Pa, anyway) school districts are stretched to find a way to pay them
