What do you mean by close up the caret on the left ?
On my second attempt my pic got posted somehow.
The only thing I did different was use the photobucket HTML click button.

Do you mean my caret was pointing the wrong way?
My Mac keyboard only has one quotation mark key, but I have two caret keys.

They have made a few improvements over the years. Like being able to use ‘enter’ to start a new paragraph.
But I do find myself looking for the little camera to browse for a photo that i’d like to post. Most of the time, it’s just not worth the trouble.

You only need one of height or width. The browser will calculate the other dimension automatically.
Of course, you can take it upon yourself to calc the other dimension. But, if you get it wrong, the image will be distorted.
Actually that’s what I did the second time I tried posting the picture and it worked. I found that html direct link. Thanks much for your input.

Place center in brackets < > at the front of your img src= command to place in the middle of the page.

The preview of the image before posting lets me know whether the picture is distorted or not. So I make the incremental adjustments of the size after seeing what side of it is off. I learned HTML 3.2 nearly 20 years ago and I’ve not kept up with the other versions. So I always add height and width dimensions and I use quote marks for everything. Thanks!
No, I do not know how long one has to be a member before being able to private mail someone. You may be able to ask an admin moderator, if you send them a message. I’m glad you’re getting things figured out here :-)
Why would you need a Photobucket account? You can just go to photosearch.com, or Google images for that matter, and just drag & click.

On tablets you have to have a link. The photobucket way is super easy though.
You did it! It’s super easy and you got it. Don’t worry about taking up space, ask if something is still unclear.
But it looks like you figured it out. Post a few pictures today just to get the habit going.
