The real question is - would they actively - and physically - try to stop the others from doing so, or just do nothing.

Some here have a bent perception of what being conservative really is. Libertarian ain’t conservative. Many of the criminal bike gang apologists sound very “liberal progressive”.
The only people who have a LOT of trouble from the cops are criminals.
Conservatism is about small government that answers to the people.
Cops ARE government. And union. That’s a horrible combination that must be kept under control.
No doubt we are, but anyone who doesn’t visit FR sucks.
There are a lot of FR ‘visitors’ who seriously suck.
Some of us defend constitutional rights and due process of law and we’re said to be “liberal progressives”.
If that’s not totally bass-ackwards, I have no idea what is.

My take is once the pistols started firing the cops did what they needed to do.
The hardcore bikers have clammed up, that’s the code. In a way they are keeping themselves in jail. If someone wants to get out by talking, he’ll have 169 guys out for his a$$.
The hard core guys don’t care about jail, it’s just the cost of doin’ business for the criminals and they are pretty much keeping the other guys in prison.
The hardcore guys started this and I have absolutely no sympathy for them. These other guys, probably mostly decent guys are getting screwed by the hardcore bikers, not the cops.

Some clubs are criminal.
Others are not.
This was a confederation of clubs event.
It was not a Bandidos event though some were there.
It was not a Cossacks event though some were there.
It was not a Christian Motorcyclists Association event though some were there.
A lot of other groups were also represented.
Nearly two hundred people were arrested, from an assortment of all sorts of clubs, as well as many motorcyclists not associated with any club.
The purpose of the Confederation Of Clubs is to lobby legislation regarding motorcycle laws, and to inform the public what bills are in session and how they would apply.
This was set up as a political rally, not a criminal conference. Arresting everyone they could grab after firing into the crowd is a bunch of crap.

Maybe the confederation of clubs needs to reconsider membership requirements. Right now they have a monstrous PR problem because some of.their members don’t know how to behave.
The “club” that brought the snipers with high powered rifles has some pretty bad PR problems too.
