Donald Trump will be announcing for president today, according to a source close to the Trump camp.
Apparently, the conventional wisdom that Trump was just making presidential noises because he always does turned out to be…well….flat wrong.
Yesterday, the Washington Post reported that Trump has released papers showing his net worth to be $9 billion. A release that is being made in anticipation of his announcement today. Apparently the conventional wisdom over the years that had people either insisting he wasn’t really a billionaire at all (as did a New York Times “business reporter” who quoted anonymous sources insisting Trump was “not remotely close to being a billionaire”) or worth a paltry $4.1 billion (as Forbes magazine does this minute) were…well…flat wrong.
And six days ago, after another story in the Washington Post from just over a month ago insisted Trump “can’t get any respect,” the news headlined at Newsmax was this:
There’s a lesson here. To wit: It is a fool’s errand to underestimate Donald Trump.
The other day, Trump took a stroll outside of his iconic Trump Tower with Fox and Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade. Not surprisingly there were everyday folk instantly swarming to Trump. They wanted a picture, they wanted a handshake, they wanted to have a word. At one point, standing on Fifth Avenue, Trump is flagged by the driver of a lumber truck. “I know you!” the driver says with a laugh and a grin.

So far I have seen a bunch Cruz supporters (including me), a Jindal supporter, a few Huckabee supporters, a handful of Walker supporters, and now a Trump supporter :)
Should be an interesting year on the board :)
To tell the truth, I’m most curious about whether Sarah Palin will be the Vice Presidential nominee, and whether she will throw in with Ted Cruz, or Donald Trump.

The problem there is that he has too many conservative type beliefs.
He’s assigning a team of crack private investigators to research the question of whether or not he should run.
He’s probably going to discuss his efforts to get that transfreak, Jenner, as a host for his beauty pageants.

My word, I hope this egomaniac doesn’t pull a Perot on us. I can see him lose out in the Republican primaries and then strike out on his own as an independent. If he does, let’s hope that silly republicans like my father and brother-in-law don’t fall for it like they did when they voted for Perot. Lord save us from Hillary Clinton.

He said that we MUST have universal health care.
He said he would raise taxes on upper income earners.
He was pro-abortion, then flip-flopped when he started selling himself to Tea Partiers, but still donates heavily to left-wing pro-abort politicians.
Too many "conservative type beliefs." Yes, indeed./S

Yeah, I've seen it. All of that is what Trump is feeding the gullible Tea Partiers who lap up his schtick.
The research I've done goes a bit deeper than one pat website. I've read about Trump's history, and I've read his own words. Trump supporters aren't interested, however. They've found something shiny that's all flash and bluster, and they're determined to stick with it.
