Yamazaki Single Malt Sherry Cask 2013 was named the best scotch of 2015. I’ve been trying to find some here.
I know - I was able to sample in Japan on a biz trip last year - they were surprised I knew about it. I couldn’t believe how good it was, but it was just the one little sample - expensive - phew - it was in such high demand they said they couldn’t keep it in. the other Yamazaki’s give any scotch a run for their money unless you talk super high end - but my god that was a good mellow swallow.
I’m trying a new one I’d never seen before called Monkey’s shoulder today. Hint of vanilla, it’s a nice change of pace... but no Yama. When I go lower on price i either go Irish with Jameson’s or Rye with Templeton Rye. Love me some Templeton.
