Saved by the bell here on your comment. I almost made the mistake of rebutting Drew 68. Then paused and felt silly. I was going to sadly ask "would the US like any other neighbours on their doorstep. I see we in Canada have a few defenders on FR. Ok please excuse a rant. I am just opposite a small Upper Peninsula city.

This just workout perfectly and we can take bit of joshing. To digress though. I think something comes along once in a while to give folks a laugh. This seemed to be a bit of fun to give people a chuckle.

The only adverse comments I heard on the Canadian television, were that the destruction did not befit the "City of Brotherly Love". (Emphasis on the brotherly). Soon to blow over of course. We two Countries have some big fish to fry. America with a presidential nominee campaign in the offing, we, in Canada have to stand a 78 day period of politics. This because the Harper Conservatives will go to the people in October.

I had to chuckle about the Philly Fans. Detroit Fans seemed more sportsmanlike. Most Canadians will not remember the fearsome Philadelphia Flyers Hockey Team. I do and now a very old retiree I cannot understand myself getting so het up over hockey. There was a brutal enforcer called Schultz who pulverised the other teams forwards. Guys in Canada that looked like Woody Allen, wearing T shirts with his name on. Schultz the Hammer.

We’ve all had moments like that with the kids’ toys. :-)

You do bring up a good point. The guys who last had HitchBOT couldn’t stand its incessant talking, so they dropped it off there on the street at 3:00 a.m.

Come to think of it, around 20-25 years ago, when I was living in Philly, a store’s burglar alarm went off one night. The alarm was a loud bell on the outside of the store, and that thing rang all night long. My then-spouse and I couldn’t sleep. We kept calling 911, but the operators kept telling us that the owner was refusing to come out at night and turn the alarm off. That alarm drove us both mad. Eventually we went outside to destroy it. We actually picked up a brick and threw it at the alarm several times, unfortunately to no avail.

So, the question is, was HitchBOT talking incessantly while sitting on the street? If so, someone like you or I might’ve gone out there and destroyed it, too. LOL. I didn’t think of that. This HitchBOT story is so much fun. lol
