DES MOINES — Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and actress Ellen Page, of “Juno” fame, got into a testy and free-wheeling discussion Friday over gay rights here at the Iowa State Fair.
“I’m happy to answer your question but not to have a back-and-forth debate,” Cruz told Page, as she pressed him about discrimination against LGBT citizens, approaching him as he flipped pork chops over an open grill. But the two then proceeded to have a spirited exchange over gay rights and whether private businesses — florist companies, for example —can refuse to cater gay weddings in the name of their religious beliefs.
The discussion, which was held in view of reporters and caught on video for Page’s new Vice show, came hours before Cruz hosts a religious liberty rally here in Des Moines, where he will be defending what he sees as that right.

She was courting the bearded lady.
I’d have said, what rights? Homosexuals are denied something?

Sure, the video in the article was not Page’s video. After Page and her crew leaves Cruz talks about what the debate was really about and that she wanted nothing to do with that.

She was in the movie “Juno” and she came out and said she’s a lesbian. Cruz put her in her place. Cruz put her in her place and turned the tables on her.
Never heard of it. The last modern movie I saw was American Sniper. It's good that Cruz put the dike in her place.
Funny thing about Cruz is, he is undoubtedly the smartest candidate. I really do believe he is the only one that can “clear the room” in a debate scenario. I do NOT use the word lightly and I know what it means: Ted Cruz is a genius.

Cruz would never get past the RINOs because he can’t sell out to get the money needed to win.
I’m hoping he’s Trump’s VP pick and Trump only does one term.
Cruz would also be excellent for the Supreme Court.
She does tend to play herself a lot of movies, like most actors these days.
But being able to play oneself convincingly in many movies doesn't really improve one's understanding of religious freedom.

Was this a publicity stunt for Ms Page where all that she really needed to do was to move her lips?
Why is it that most openly homosexual people are anything BUT gay? They, almost every one, is VERY bitter about their lot in life.
I don't know about florists or bakers but photographer must intimately work with the couple (including performing at the wedding) to capture an artistic vision focused on the pairing. 2 men or 2 women (often with absent families who refuse to participate) dramatically shift the core of stock poses. Two grooms? No veil, no garter, no 'bride'.
