A veteran MBTA bus operator has been suspended while transit police investigate an incident captured on video that appears to show the driver attacking a rider who threw a drink on her while leaving the bus.
Transit Police are working to identify the woman who assaulted the bus operator, MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo said of the video, which has been posted online. The woman was upset because the bus operator had asked her to pay the bus fare. Its unclear why the woman felt she didnt have to pay.

"Its unclear why the woman felt she didnt have to pay. Really? I have an idea or two.
Really? Do we have to say it?
Obama was going to pay it from his stash
Was the drink thrown black...or white?
Stupid retort to why the rider did not pay.....
She did not have any change to put into the coin box, only $20’s.
Understanding the “near-common” practice of Mudslimes tossing H2SO4/Vitriol on women for punishment, I’d say the driver might be justified in her effort to “apprehend” the perpetrator.
I could be wrong, but I know what H2SO4 can do to...
best to keep them away from HF.
Don't care if all she had was $100s, a box of donuts, or a cuppa Joe.
If she knew she was going to ride the bus, she knew she needed the correct amount of change.
I know some bus drivers. No one thinks they should pay. Including many State Reps who think the T should be free. The Greenline from Kenmore Square to BC is free because the students would just jump off anywhere and chasing them was a waste of time.
dear IYA,
I do not disagree with you.
As a well-seasoned traveler of public transit, on Long Island, NY; Portland, OR; New Orleans, LA; and now located on the ‘grandma’s shopping route of the bus company across the river’, LA; the SECOND rule is ALWAYS have the correct busfare - unless you have the opportunity to have the monthly buspass card, and have THAT in hand to present to the driver.
It's not free to the taxpayers who subsidize it.
