2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land

Almighty God, our hearts are humbled in your presence.
We bow before Your leadership and submit to Your will.

We pray for Your way and not our Way, O Lord, no matter how dark it may be.
Lead us by Your own hand, and choose the path for us.
Let it be smooth or rough, and that will be the best.

Winding or straight it leads to Your rest.

We ask You to choose our friends, our sickness, or our health.

We pray, Lord, that You choose even our cares for us,
our poverty, or our wealth. Amen.”

Please note that God is speaking not to the local yocals, nor to anyone and everyone. He is speaking only to His Church. He is speaking to “MY people”, who are called by “MY NAME”.

When the Church is fallen, just as Israel fell and were scattered, this is the command of God to HIS PEOPLE, and no one else.

There is simply no greater prayer for a nation. Look at the shape the Church is in.. Yes, I speak as a Catholic. But, I’m just sayin’.

Exactly, the scripture is focused on believers getting right with God. If that happens, then their land will be healed.

That’s why the Bonar prayer:

“Almighty God, our hearts are humbled in your presence.

We bow before Your leadership and submit to Your will.”

One can muse whether we even know what that means in this age. God is Mercy and forgiveness, but Repentance must be a conversion and true. Perhaps, even conversion daily, a straining to keep our conversion true.

It is also a universal commitment of the Church, a whole PEOPLE, willing to live for Christ Jesus and yes, even a commitment to die for Christ Jesus. HIS people must repent in whole, and wholly, in order to be Holy. :)

The warm and fuzzy has to go. It simply isn’t working, is it? We are into assurance of Heaven. That is not working either. Many are into a “prosperity” gospel, and that definitely isn’t working. lol. The Western Church is only marginally faithful and think they are devout.

God help us. We have further to fall, until we must repent. We are as the Jews— stiff necked, and prideful people, who have not suffered enough to throw off the yoke of sinful man, seek after God, dearest and true, our Father.

Dearest and Almighty God, bring us to your Jerusalem, refined as in fire, saved and forgiven. Come to our assistance and help us suffer well, in the way of the Son, our Lord and Saviour.

Dearest xzins. Your timing is perfect for posting the Bonar Prayer.

God knows it's time for us "to repent in whole, and wholly, in order to be Holy," like dearest RitaOK said.

We can't go forward in fear, but in whole trust in our Lord and Savior. I think we are being tested, both as a nation and individually.

God is always watching. He sees the rejection of Him in our new laws, in schools and in the public square.

Pray, pray, pray and never let up.

I paid attention one day to the old churches scattered around our county. They were a large worship room and that was it. Their descendants build classrooms, kitchens, etc.

Those thing aren't bad.

But you get the sense there was a time the gathering was about prayer and worship. That's what makes the prosperity gospel, the self esteem gospel, the positive thinking gospel, and any other gospel come up short.

We were made to glorify God, and it truly isn't vice versa.
