I can't believe that so many folks here are missing the BIG PICTURE concerning Donald Trump declaring that the Kentucky county clerk must obey the law on gay marriage. You want to know what the BIG PICTURE IS? Okay here it is:
Right now MANY sanctuary cities are disobeying the immigration laws. By now claiming that the Kentucky clerk must obey the law, Trump now has the moral authority to later (or even now) claim that the sanctuary cities MUST obey the immigration laws. Oh, the officials in those cities refuse to obey the law? Good! Then they can join the Kentucky county clerk in jail. Oh, and federal funds will be shut off to all cities that refuse to OBEY the immigration laws.
Do you get it? Feel free to disagree but this makes incredible sense. In fact I was hoping Trump would claim that the Kentucky country clerk would obey the law because the BIG PICTURE is that the sanctuary cities must also OBEY the law.
Trump is on firm ground here.

How about setting up sanctuary cities for Christians, where they won’t be badgered to forego their beliefs at the altar of political correctness?
There is no big picture. Immigration laws were made by legislatures and the Kentucky homo marriage “law” was made by judges. Judges do not get to make law according to the constitution. Kentucky passed a marriage amendment with 75% approval that defined marriage for their state in the normal way.
Firm liberal ground.

So the immigration laws are more rock solid because they went thru the legislative rather than judicial opinion procedure. All the more moral authority for INSISTING that the sanctuary cities MUST obey the immigration laws. And now Trump has that moral authority.
i find it funny so many people stand with this woman yet justifiably scream and yell every time ayatollah obama skirts the law and does whatever the hell he wants...
i am not for this woman giving the middle finger to the law but at the same time i laugh at the hypocritical outrage from liberals and the obama stenographers in the main stream media..

after educating them she was elected as a democrat i condescendingly say to them, “i remember how outraged you and the rest of the liberals were when obama refused to enforce DOMA during his first term.”

Freepers should start running as Mayors of their towns and cities with the platform of creating “Sanctuary cities” which include protection for Christians, and freedom from federal taxes....
Then when the left squeals tell them them that because sanctuary cities exist that we can do this.
However, just like Obamacare, and the ban on the incandescent bulb, etc., this is bad law and we must make all effort to reverse it going forward.
What a pointless stand to take. Liberals never obey the law. They will not do so with immigration.

This woman isn’t violating a law . In fact Kentucky law forbids issuing marriage licenses to same sex couples.
Not pointless at all. President Trump will insist that the sanctuary cities MUST obey the immigration laws. And when the liberals squawk, he can rightly state that if the KY county clerk had to obey the law or face the consequences, the same must apply to the city officials. They don't want to obey the law? Good, they can join the clerk in jail. Oh, and NO federal funds to any city that refuses to obey the immigration laws.

I’m having trouble finding said law. Could you please point me to the law that states she must grant licenses to gay couples.
