It is time to invoke the Reid Rule and unilaterally abolish the filibuster.

To bad Mitch McConnell has no balls.

My first question is if there are any Republicans part of this (part of the Democrats’ plan), and secondly, will McConnell make them follow through with their filibuster and make them conduct it rather than just threaten it?

Amazing Manchin finally came to that conclusion. In reality he got an earful from West Virginians. If Obama needed another, Joe would have been on his knees in a heartbeat.

Perhaps most of them feel, as President Hussein Obama obviously does, that it just isn’t fair that the U.S. & other countries have the atomic bomb and Iran doesn’t./s

Can someone help me with the procedural issues of the “Iran Deal?” What I don’t understand is why the senate has to block this deal as if it is presumed enacted, while they always have to approve every other treaty or foreign executive action that binds the country. What am I missing? Does it have to do with this ridiculous Corker bill?

Only in Bitch McConnell’s kangaroo kabuki senate does Obama have the votes for anything.

In a real senate, he would have a DOA treaty.

But I guess arming Iran with nuclear weapons is a matter that is going to have to be dealt with by another president who hopefully is of a different mind, and by another senate with an actual leader of an actual party that opposes madness and lunacy.

The newest parliamentary parlor trick now allows for an international non-treaty treaty to be passed with a minority vote in the Senate. That angry Constitutional lecturer that talks from the teleprompter on the TV sure knows his was around the Constitution....and I mean AROUND the Constitution.

Thank you, Ted Cruz and the rest of the GOP who voted to give away their constitutional power!!!!

...and for what?

Cruz claims that the Corker deal gives Congress a say in the Iran deal.

Please show me where the Senate has had any input!

The Corker deal is nothing but POLITICAL COVER for a feckless, spineless GOP (you too, Cruz) that is doing the bidding of the US Chamber of Commerce.

You see, the US Chamber members can’t wait to get a piece of that $150 billion pie that Iran gets. But the GOP knows its base would never support this deal with Iran, so they had to come up with a way to approve it and get political cover.

The excuse we heard was if the Senate does nothing, then Obama will go alone and do the deal anyway.

THEY SHOULD HAVE LET OBAMA GO IT ALONE.....THEN CHALLENGE IT IN COURT!!!

Now, Obama has Senate approval and most courts will say that the Senate voted for and agreed to the deal.

I am sick and tired of being told what a great protector of the constitution we have in Ted Cruz (or anyone else).

They are all sellouts.....and now Cruz is selling himself out to Trump.

Votes for and against the Corker Capitulation® to Iran

Began life as S.615. Later converted to H.1191.

In the House of Representatives;

In the Senate.

A cursory review of the rollcalls will show that the Corker Capitulation® was passed virtually unanimously. Those now ostentatiously braying that they are against the Iran agreement are lying. They knew when they passed this bill that it would make stopping the Iran agreement impossible. They are hoping you only look at the final meaningless grandstanding kabuki vote and not look back to May when they did the real dirty deed.

Since the deal negotiated by the Republicans and the Obama Administration is so standard and Obama has already breached his side of the agreement the Republicans have three options.

1) Refuse to bring the bill up for a vote because Obama agreed to provide the terms of all side agreements and Obama has refused to comply with the terms of his mown agreement and is withholding and keeping secret the most critical deal terms central to the whole agreement

The Republicans are letting Obama cheat on the terms Obama himself set and obligated himself to comply with to get the bill up for a vote.

2) In order pass the Iran Nuclear Agreement between the Congress and the Obama Administration, the Senate had to invent a whole new type of legislation of dubious constitutionality that by design skirts the usual constitutional requirements.

The Republicans should have had the smarts to incorporate a clause in the Iran agreement to block what Reid is trying to do but that's water under the bridge.

It would be trivial for McConnell and the Senate Republicans to pass a narrow, one time rule that this non agreement agreement legislation is not subject to Filibuster to block Reid's attempt to block an up or down vote.

Call it the Tactical Low Yield Neutron Bomb Nuclear option targeted solely at the bad faith attempts of the Democrats to weasel out of their duties to follow through on the Iran agreement that they forced on the Republicans and the Country

3) Announce that the Obama Administration has acted in bad faith and lied to Congress and the American people about the terms and scope his true intent with the Iran agreement.

Tell the world that

1) Congressional Review has discovered that Obama has not complied with the terms of his own agreement and some of the most critical and important fundamental terms on enfacement and verification are undisclosed and will remain secret and hidden from Congress and the American People.

2) Although much of the deal Iran Deal terms are secret and will remain hidden from the American people, based on just what we know now about the the terms of the Iran agreement being forced upon the American people, President Obama has exceeded the authority granted by Congress under the frame work of existing special deal agreed upon By Congress and the Obama Admin.

The Iran deal as presented to Congress is massive over reach by Obama that extends the scope and parameters Iran into areas such as
a) providing Iran with Advanced Nuclear Technology

b) using the US military to defend Iran from attack by countries threatened by Iranian nuclear weapons.

c) perhaps worst of all, Obama has agreed to transfer American military grade cyber warfare technology and know how to Iran under the guise protecting Iran from virus attacks.

The military grade cyber warfare computer hardware and software security tools and the CIA/NSA level know how on offensive and defensive cyber warfare programming methods and system attack strategies and techniques will enable Iran to build a state of the art cyber warfare capability that allows them to defend against future American attacks and the tools and knowledge of America's cyber warfare system to allow them to compromise American data networks to spy on us and to better carry out a devastating cyber attack on America in the future using American know how to implement any such attack.

These and other over reaches in the agreement effectively elevate the Obama Iran deal to the level of a formal diplomatic treaty and must be treated as a formal Treaty between Iran and the United States.

This makes the existing Iran bill passed by Congress to approve Obama’s null and void and Congress must now start the approval process for the Obama Iran Deal as a Treaty and go through the full formal treaty approval process that includes a 2/3 vote of Congress to obtain approval.

Republicans in Congress can highlight why the Iran deal is so bad it seriously endangers the American people from terrorist and nuclear attacks by Iran

Congress should also make the case that the deal Obama negotiated is so bad for America that it almost gives the appearance that Obama was negotiating directly on behalf of Iran interests and against the interests and national security of the United States.

The Iran deal is so bad that even the majority of Congressional Democrats strongly oppose and condemn the deal and refuse to vote for it and those that are voting for it had to be arm twisted and paid off to do so.

Because of this bad faith move to undercut Congress President Obama has made sure his Iran Deal was approved by the rest of the world and economic and political sanctions against Iran are irrevocably lifted for the rest of the world except the United States, regardless of how Congress votes

The Obama Iran deal has little or no support from American voters and is extremely unpopular. A majority of voters overwhelmingly oppose Obama’s Iran deal and are desperately trying to tell their Congressional reps to kill the deal.

Given the level of passionate opposition to the Iran deal it's inexplicable why Republicans are acting so powerless to oppose the deal thither behavior rises to the level of passive aggressive collision to pass the bill to force this catastrophic agreement on the American people despite strong opposition by the majority of the voters.
