They're very common here in the Kali desert....these people are using the wrong stuff; "Demon" (a powder to mix with water) offs 'em within seconds....and a direct hit isn't necessary, as is the case with the likes of Raid.

Next morning, I examined the cabinet and found a gap behind the dishwasher. Threw in some mothballs, nailed and caulked it shut.
No more nocturnal snake visits.

Brake or carb cleaner zaps ‘em pretty good as well...when our son was a toddler and played outside regularly, I’d go out about 2x a month at night with a flashlight and my weapon of choice and zap about a dozen or so that had set up residence in his Tonkas, tricycle, etc...persistent critters.
So effectively you could still have a snake in your house somewhere? Don’t snakes eat like once a year and then crawl off to sleep? Freaking nuts. My husband would have been living there by himself. I’m renting a condo. Holy crap. I am officially freaking out for you. When did this happen?
This happened about 5 years ago. No snake inside the house since.
Although there’s one that bops down the driveway occasionally.
The trick is to move yourself out of its way, pronto. If it can get away from you, it will. If you corner it, it has no choice but to bite.

Bops. That’s so cute. okay well since it has been five years I won’t worry. However I would like to know what kind of snake bops down the driveway? I am one of those people that believes that a snake may not be poisonous and can’t hurt you but can make you hurt yourself by moving yourself out of its way. Like in front of a car or off a cliff or into a raging river or off the ladder in the barn.

(Bop=mosey.) I’m cool, he cool, we cool. Not sure what kind of snake. Maybe he’s a beatnik snake. He’s so cool he wears sunglasses and a beret when he bops...
We have both black widow and brown recluse in my area. I kill one of the two at least once a month. They seem to appear after rainstorms.
