They’re starting to finally realize you can get the weather on your smart phone.

Correct, and since it's available on your smart phone at the exact moment you want/need to know what the weather is like. or will be soon in your part of the world, who needs the Weather Channel?

I use my local NOAA weather forecast and RADAR image for my weather info:

So sick of that channel being “Weathertainment”.

I stopped watching months ago.

I’d rather have very intense reporting on actual weather so I like what they are doing...”fat guys” and “prospectors” don’t belong on the weather channel...

That means paring back its original programming investments (shows like "Prospectors"...

Prospectors is the only thing on TWC that I watch.

When they used to just do weather including stuff from all over the globe 24/7 it was addictive.

I've moved on from the Weather Channel when they did go AGW.

I did watch some of the movies they ran - mainstream movies that had a weather element. The scroll at the bottom was annoying.

Then there was an outbreak of tornadoes one movie night, and it sort of highlighted some problems with the idea.

Yeah, actual weather tends to be of more importance to people impacted by it than movies tangentially involved with weather..
*lol*

The Weather Channel used to be good till NBC bought it and tried to turn it into a weather entertainment channel.

DirecTV dropped them for a while and went to WEATHERNATION. Now both are on and I still have a preference for WeatherNation.

Great, now for the History Channel to just cover history.

I don’t have anything to do with the Weather Channel. Environmental wackos predicting doom and destruction for the Earth some time in the distant future but they can’t even get tomorrow’s weather right. I never could understand what weather occurring 2000 miles away from where I live has to do with me. Local weather bobbleheads are just as bad.

It’s to the point where the chance of seeing actual weather info on that channel is about the same as seeing any actual music on mtv.

Thinking the other weather channel, the new one, is putting a dent on their ratings. The new channel does weather only. Nothing fancy.
