The kid is not innocent. I can see it in his face in the pic as he is being led away. WHEN did he get the “NASA” shirt? Not tool long before this happpened, I bet.

Well said and totally spot on, FRiend! I'll bet he's even got some Dallas Cowboys gear handy to try to blend in and pose himself as a real American. One word:

taqiya

The muzzie yute obviously has no genuine engineering skills given the slipshod nature of his hackish "invention". But he's sly like a fox and quite cunning in trying to appear like "one of us". Role playing - that's what they do.

This kid is no Edison: called a clock kit an "invention". Not an invention; a project.

A lot more information is needed to determine if the story is legitimate, or a staged "Muslim gets picked on because he is Muslim" style event.

I’m sorry, but I truly cannot believe what I’m reading on this thread. Jim R. better hope the MSM don’t pick up on this thread, because it makes FR look like a bunch of retards.

As a courtesy to you, I have pinged the boss. Although I don't want to bother him at this late hour in Fresno, if people like myself and others on the thread are detrimental to the reputation of Free Republic, then I'll await a justifiable zot from the boss and wish you, as a defender (if not admirer) of Ahmed Mohamed nothing but the very, very best going forward, FRiend! Thanks so much for keeping me in mind and be assured you'll be in my prayers if I'm vaporized from this site.

You are just discriminating against a [Muslim] kid whom likes to tinker with electronics.
Those of you casting blame at this [Muslim] kid should all be ashamed of yourselves!
Then, the dumbasses here are doubling down on the stupidity and fanning the flames with anti-Muslim rhetoric, instead of seeing this for what it was: A [Muslim] kid whom likes to tinker with electronics and brought one of his projects to school to show off.
I agree that it’s not exactly an engineering masterpiece, but that doesn’t mean it was built [by a Muslim] with malicious intent.
Screw you again for calling me a liar. I sure as hell hope you aren’t involved in any way with schooling children.

Very quickly -- if you don't mind -- it's night here in the continental United States. Just curiously, what part of the world are you in? Due to the time difference, I presume you're military and, if so, thanks much for your service to our Republic!

I’d like to know if his dad suggested the idea to build a timing circuit in a pencil case / mini suitcase type enclosure for his science project knowing the reaction and result? This way the kid doesn’t know he’s being used and his dad, two time former Sudanese presidential candidate witha radical background, gets to stand up at the mic and promote the idea that Muslims come in peace, get the sympathy vote while the MSM shows non-briown-eyed Muslims smiling on camera (see we aren’t here to take your land and declare a caliphate; why would you think that?), while the CIC is wanting to import another 110,000 Muslim foot soldiers onto our soil ata time when Americans have seen ghe light and are saying hell no to it. Something stinks with the timing ofthis and who the “victims” are.

I hate to keep pestering you but Rush Limbaugh has picked up on the story (if not this particular thread). Since Rush uses FR for his show prep, it's a good bet that he's been following the give-and-take here on this forum. So it has been widely disseminated in the media.

America's anchorman stated:

To the uneducated, untrained eye, this looks like a bomb. It looks like a timer of some sort. But whatever, this is not a clock, as the media is reporting. The media's telling you, "Poor Mohamed! All he did was take his science project to school -- it was a clock -- and these racist, homophobic Irving school people, look what they did! They called the cops and the cops arrested him and they've been stigmatized." That? Try getting that through Homeland Security.

By the way, the police say that they only arrested 14-year-old Ahmed Mohamed because he could not explain to them what his thing was. Why couldn't he tell 'em it was just a clock? I suspect one of the reasons is, it didn't look like a clock.

A clock can be many things. A clock could be a timer. It could be a sundial. But you look at the two pictures that we have here, there's nothing here that makes you think this is a clock. Maybe a timer in there, but you can't even see that. It was only after he could not explain to the police that they arrested him.

> Actually it is a clock. It's just the internals of a 1970’s Radio Shack large display clock. I looked at it and immediately knew it was nothing he built. He “invented” nothing. This whole thing was a setup.

http://blogs.artvoice.com/techvoice/2015/09/17/reverse-engineering-ahmed-mohameds-clock-and-ourselves/

as a frequenter of Radio Shack stores for decades as a hobbyist and an experimenter I knew those parts looked familiar when I saw them. Your assessment mirrors what I thought. He built nothing. He just disassembled a clock and sort of reassembled (if you can call it that) it into a metal suitcase style pencil case. This is suspivious to me given his father's background and the timing coinciding with the gov wanting o import more Muslim refugess; not just a few either.

Fortunately the mayor of Irving, Texas is standing with the ISD and the PD. Her name is Beth Van Duyne. Please check the link. Among other things, you'll see that she's quite a beautiful woman and that the "news" site calls her an "anti-Muslim Republican mayor". Some on this thread may see otherwise, but the restoring of America will take a lot more people willing to be characterized as "anti-Muslim". I know I certainly am!

Crush islam!

Yes, and Irving in particular is quite the hotbed for Muslims. They built a huge mosque there about ten or so years ago and I think it was in expectation of drawing Muslims to Irving.

I don’t know the number or percentage but a lot of the house purchases in the last couple of years have been to Muslims.

The Irving mayor has taken harsh criticism for fighting Sharia law proposed by the Muslim community.

I lived in Irving all my life until 3 months ago and it has changed dramatically in the last 20 years; mostly in the last ten.

There you go again, thinking logically instead of accepting your media gruel.

Great points. The coincidence between the actions of the kid and his father being an activist is pretty hard to swallow.

Kid took action to get caught after he was warned that the thing was trouble.

For what it's worth, I think Rush Limbaugh was spot-on in his analysis of this matter. Conservative Patriot Pamela Geller also nailed it when he wrote:

The Irving school’s response was rational and reasonable.

Along with a handful of FReepers who are judging the Irving ISD and PD harshly include CAIR, Hillary Clinton Mark Zuckerberg and, naturally, Barack Hussein Obama. It's a safe bet that ISIS also holds Ahmed Mohamed in the highest regard as a budding young scientist terrorist.

Although I'm now far, far away from the urbanized Metroplex, I may take a fresh, new look at Irving, especially Mayor Beth Van Duyne, below. Hubba! Hubba! WOW! Brains, braun and beauty!

Seriesly, she's taking on the fight in that suburb of Dallas. Under her leadership, crime is way down and school scores are way up. Her fearless stand against muzzies shows that Irving won't take any of their nonsense. It sure seems that Irving is headed in the right direction.

I welcome our host’s comments on this topic. I stand behind my comments. Your attitude is wrong, it is anti-American, and anti-liberty.
