From a picture in Breitbart article, the components look like they may be from a disassembled AcuRite Intelli-time Model 13003 Alarm clock, AC powered, but with button battery date/time backup when the clock is unplugged.

The small green PCB looks like the PCB layout (Figure 2) in ElecCircuit's Cheap Digital time clock with alarm circuit by LM8560, which uses a Unisonic Technologies LM8560 Alarm Clock IC.

It looks like the clock was just disassembled and put into a 5"x8" case. If that is it, then one wonders why Ahmen would plug in the power cord of the disassembled and hazardously packaged alarm clock components during English class when his Engineering teacher warn him not to show it to other teachers.

There you go again, thinking logically instead of accepting your media gruel.

Great points. The coincidence between the actions of the kid and his father being an activist is pretty hard to swallow.

Kid took action to get caught after he was warned that the thing was trouble.
