The search wound down as the company was tasked with securing Afghan elections and other missions, and Silvino said that the yearlong deployment was a success. But his company had been shamed, he said.

Although the mission changed after Bergdahl disappeared to focus on his rescue, Baker said it remained unclear whether the search caused what some called "unprecedented disruption to the Taliban" or was conversely a setback.

Cpt Billings: “none of my guys died while searching for Bergdahl” True enough, none of Bergdahl’s platoon were killed, but there were other soldiers and units involved in the search, and those units took casualties and had their soldiers killed and wounded.

Bergdahl deserted his post. There is no question about that. And for that he needs to be found guilty, sentenced and dishonorably discharged.

I’m fairly certain that the Taliban got intel from Bergdahl that they used to mount this attack.
Another “hero” feted at the White House, back pay, promotion, etc.
