Can Linux or anything other than Windows run software that reads my personal weather station then sends the data to NOAA, Weather underground and others?
Nope!
W10 works great for Mrs p6 and me.
So did 98, XP, 7, 8, and 8.1.
Right now I’m looking at a Windows tablet to replace my old XP desktop that I pushed as far as it could go. Had a great 10 year or more run with no problems.
I'm sure it could. You might have to write it though. Or it could be run in a guest Win box.
If you have a 'weather station' that will only work with windows software you were ripped off.
Just bought a new HP Notebook laptop, and have no idea what kind of word processor it has...but it does have Windows 10.
Am no computer wizard, by any means. And still have 2006 Dell desk top, with Windows XP, and find that so easy to use.
But, have no idea what program this has, so anyone have any idea about what type of “word” program comes with Windows 10?
I just got a cheap Windows tablet with 8.1 that I immediately upgraded to 10. Performance is not adequate for what I intended (no surprise as it’s a 32-bit with just 1GB of RAM) but with a bluetooth keyboard & mouse it is fine for most home users and comes in for less than $150. I do the occasional DJ gig and the Android DJ apps really suck, so a more robust Windows tablet would be a lot more convenient than schlepping around a laptop. From what I’ve seen on the market a Windows tablet in the $300 range would fit the bill nicely.
