Thank you for the information, Swordmaker.
On line and wait for the shipment direct to you. . . then sell your old one on line. . . alternately if you have a Best Buy near you, go there. They take trade ins.
Is the follow up to that post at #13, linked to an article dated Sept 25, 2015 that says it's still going on FUD too?
Nope. I even posted that when it was going on Friday. . . but the 2014 article claiming that iPhone sales were fading because black market prices had dropped to just 100% more than the official price on Apple's website on the day the iPhone 6 was released was FUD!
What is going on over in China is a real problem where scalpers have figured out a way around the system Apple had come up with to prevent scalpers from cutting out real consumers from buying iPhones . . . Apple has taken steps, I understand to prevent it from being used again. They are going to use the log of actual TCP/IP address of the buyers and allow only two iPhones to each address to eliminate such computerized buying programs in the future. Too bad this was not anticipated by the Chinese Apple Store this year. They have been logging the TCP/IP, but there was no routine to prevent repeat orders. Now there will be.
Is that your opinion, or do you have data to back it up?
Of course I do. . . I don't post things without knowing what I am talking about. First of all, the article you linked itself SAYS that the iPhone 6 was still selling on the black market for TWICE what you could order one from the Apple Store. That is not a sign of fading demand. Just because a few scalpers had found some willing to pay four times the retail the retail price doesn't mean that would be the stable black market price. . . it will always be a negotiable price structure. This article's claim was that the scalpers were loosing money on their investment without any evidence, and in fact the evidence they showed was they were at least doubling their money. Merely claiming "panic" without evidence is not evidence of panic. Secondly, that quarter, the Apple iPhone sales hit an all time world record for any model cellular phone, with 74.5 million iPhones being sold. That article was clickbait FUD when it was posted. Your second article was based on a release by Apple. Nice try.
So the fact that an iPhone 5c that originally sold for $549 is now down to $249 doesn't indicate fading demand?
13 million sold in one weekend?
You realize of course that this can only mean one thing?
Apple is DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED!
;’)
Are you that much of an economic and business ignoramus? Comparing the normal cyclic price reductions of a two year old retail product to its introduction retail price to a newly released high-demand product in a gray or black market pricing structure is NOT a valid exercise for any economic comparison, tacticalogic. They are not Apples to Apples. You seem to forget I am educated as an Economist.
The iPhone 5c is a two year old model that has been superseded by other models in the tiers offered for sale. There are other models that steal demand from the superseded model, and, tacticalogic, the 5c was NEVER the flagship demand model, so you are not arguing anything near the same thing on price. The replacements for that moved into that tier's replacement model have the SAME demand if not MORE demand than the iPhone 5c.
Your argument is specious and incompetent.
I am not going to play nitpicking "gotcha" with you, because you don't play it well. . .
OF course it is. . . Apple is ALWAYS DOOMED!
Look at tacticalogic's attempts to turn it into something as negative as possible. . . and trying to warp normal business cycle pricing into a comparison of gray/black market pricing a year ago as somehow dispositive of a fading demand for iPhones a year ago that NEVER happened. I don't quite understand why that is so important to him to even raise or try to tie it into the scalping that certainly happened this year. Strange.
:’)
I usually go with the flow and up grade because at this point you can get the highest trade in. I don’t see the reason this time and I like the 6+ I have!
It just seems like they are really not much of an upgrade!
Sure you will. You'll trot out the "hater" label for anybody that won't drink the Kool-Aid.
Branding. That's it. Apple appeals to sandal-wearing hipsters.
Is that your opinion, or do you have data to back it up?
There is no amount of true information that will cure your disposition concerning all things Apple. Why do you care what people buy, are you trying to save them from a fate worse than death?
If you want to spread a little dissension go over to any Cruz-Trump thread.
This stuff really gets old, it has been going full blast since before I picked a screen name. In fact it used to go on when Genie first came on line at $8.00 a minute.
If you want to wear that epithet, go buy a lapel pin and put it on. . . but you still don't do the nitpicking very well. Your whole premise you tried to build was incompetent. I found it hilarious you think that a two year old product's pricing is somehow comparable to gray/black market arbitrage pricing. Good luck with that.

That is exactly what he's up to. . . trying to get a flame war going.
I guess basic supply and demand is just too "nuanced" for the unwashed.
