Here’s what I have to say about your good question on Catholics

I’ve researched this so it is an informed statement

Catholics vote for democrats 50% in pres elections. If the GOP spent as much time and attention on them they’d (the GOP) would have to stop pretending illegals or Latino voting bloc matters. It really doesn’t But the GOP can’t get the catholic vote. A majority of Catholics do not care that not do they realize that the democrat party is the party of abortion They don’t care about the fact that catholic canon law as well as papal documents and also logic points out that birth control cooperates with evil

The GOP could not get the catholic vote on abortion. Catholics either do not care or other issues take precedence. The fact is that it is absolutely aginst our religion to vote for a pro abortion candidate when there is an alternative in which case the least offensive abortion candidate is the one to vote for.

They don’t think about it and they don’t hear about it and they do not inform themselves by looking it up in the catechism which most Catholics have forgotten exists but is our theologians’ review and canon law experts’ presentation of and reference to the bible. Every statement has at the bottom of the page numbered footnotes to the bible documentation

You can read this yourself with a simple google or just let it go, but, in the catechism the statement regarding illegals is that they are unlawful. That we as Catholics are not to defy lawful proceedings ( there is nothing unlawful about not participating in birth control or abortion But it is unlawful to participate in illegal immigration The first being paso e or non offensive the second being offensive

The catechism states logically that illegal immigration offends the host nation depleting its resources for itself it’s lawful citizens and future legal immigration for them as well as for future legitimate refugees

Illegal immigration and, in this case, invasion are against Church teachings

Beyond uninformed cathilics, Catholics have taken on a thing they call social justice I don’t know why they’ve taken it beyond legality. My most favorite catholic friends some of them and some very informed have taken it on they are blind to the teachings of the catechism separation of church and state

I don’t discuss it with them. They’ll go so far as to pretend that I, a nurse former military nurse, do not care about the individual immigrant legal or illegal, across the board whe I have taken professional care of more criminals and also foreigners and also minorities than any of them have even met in their own lifetimes

I don’t discuss it because they are not convert able on this subject. If it comes to anything I just refer them to the catechism on it.

I’ve written priests asking them to refer to the catechism on this.

I’ve left notes in the collection box on it

This grou a group of practicing Catholics, seems to be a group of people who were raised in families that were democrat going back to the I don’t know when, unions? In my family it is a group who were raised by mothers who went to the universities like Catholic, back in the ‘50s and since, who preached this stuff

They don’t separate church and state or party. And they don’t realize what the catechism says and they do not know that we are in charge of and overseeing this invasion

We the people cannot absolve ourselves of this responsibility

I don’t discuss this with my catholic social justice family and friends. But I have certainly let them know my thinking on it. And I don’t agree with them. They know that. I do not hope to convert them.

I’m going to say something else. The Church is run by humans but it has a teaching that even, as you will see, the pope cannot alter.

When Catholics ignore this they are off

many Catholics are simply wrong on this. But catholic teaching is not wrong on it. These Catholics are ignoring catholic teaching.

We keep being reminded from the pulpit that Jesuus, Mary and Joseph were once refugees in a strange land. Not saying that that is pertinent to today’s problem. The Church teaching from Rome does say that we have a right to our borders — at least it did under JPII and Benedict. But, individual pastors and Bishops seem to be ignoring that.

I’ll read this again when I have more time. Thank you for the detailed response and effort though.

Upon first read it seems that there is a rogue element that is not following the catechism or don’t know it or don’t care to know it. The position the take against the catechism is either willful or ignorant.

The key or operative to this statement that you make is LOGIC: “The catechism states logically that illegal immigration offends the host nation depleting its resources for itself it’s lawful citizens and future legal immigration for them as well as for future legitimate refugees”

A person has to think and be capable of objective thought to ever successfully apply LOGIC. I also wonder if there are priests that are intentionally misleading the issue? NAAAAW. / s.
