It wasn't through a phone call or a knock at a door that Faith Camir found out her boyfriend had been shot to death next to Mojave High School on Friday.
It was through a video on Facebook, the 16-year-old said Saturday night at a roadside memorial in front of the school where he was shot.
Taylor Brantley, 16, was seen "lying there, fighting for his life," she said with tears in her eyes.
Brantley, who was identified by his family as a Mojave student, died at University Medical Center shortly after the shooting, which stemmed from an after-school fight among a group of 40 to 50 people, North Las Vegas police said.

“A marijuana deal gone wrong”
Mojave student... Native American?
“Mojave student” = student at Mojave High School, I think, rather than a tribal affiliation.
Yes, and rather than help people took video. Our civilization has crumbled.
âA marijuana deal gone wrongâ
And they say weed won’t hurt you.
He was also known as “Tay Meez.”
None of my friends have an “also known as” of this type, although “Jane” is also known as “Mrs. Walker,” and so on.
Good one!
OPSEC rules changed when a military wife found out in a FB post from another wife that her husband was KIA. A dying Marine’s photo was promised not to be released. It was.
Indians aren't native. As I've read, Caucasians were on this continent first as hunters of mastodon elephants. Their OBLONG skulls were found occasionally in/near the pits where they drove the big beasts to die/be killed. The oriental Asian has a round skull.
And, they are misnamed too, aren't they? They are far removed from India. They had Asian ancestors, from, the reading says, "Siberian hunter groups."
Heck, I DID know what you meant.
How HORRIBLE for that poor wife!
Horrible enough when the Marines are there for support.
YES.
From the Comments:Last night on the local channel 13 news it showed Taylor Brantley with a revolver in his waist band and throwing gang signs. Come to your own conclusion.
Not possible. The article said he was just trying to be a hero to his 8 year old brother, he liked to make people laugh, and he was always happy...
And they say weed won't hurt you.
Weed can't kill you - but the laws against it can.
