Oh thanks.

“Trek Bicycles is the largest U.S. bicycle company and they’re the only major manufacturer still producing two-wheelers in the U.S. Overall, Trek makes roughly half of the bicycles manufactured here in the United States. Despite Trek’s American-made legacy, U.S. made bikes account for only about 1 percent of Trek’s total production. Trek makes 4 models in their Waterloo manufacturing facility...the Session, Madone, Speed Concept and Emonda.”

Sorry but you can't have it both ways. On one hand most of us free-market types spent decades defending these huge corporations' pursuit of profit. When the left was attacking them for making so much money, we said to butt out.

Building stuff in China is just another way for them to increase their profit margin. It's legal and, if you believe in the free market, the obvious thing to do.

Also, a lot of bicycle parts are made in Taiwan, Italy & Japan. BTW: the remains of Schwinn (after bankruptcy: “Mtn. Bikes are a fad!” -Schwinn 1985) was sold to Dorel (Canada, made in Taiwan & China now). More:

I think this is a big problem.

China is a (massive) communist country. Not free.

America is the traditional freedom-supporting country. Yet the thing which made America great, was our businesses.

Those are now selling out, and going to China. Making America less powerful, and making China more powerful.

This will be a very large problem, in the future. Heck I think it’s a big problem, already.

But it seems everyone is sold out.

This is why we so desperately need President Trump.

Don’t forget, the greatest motivation and enabler for that is the American people themselves. They ALWAYS pursue cheap and don’t care much where it came from. We voted with our wallets and China won.

The auto industry is under attack. When will the congress start acting like patriots?

Pull all monetary support from GM, demand China stop this Trojan horse attack under the guise of GM and enact retaliatory tariffs. Do it and do it now.

I hope Trump speaks to this.

So why would a country of a billion people need to "dump" product hear when they have a huge demand domestically?

I’m having to replace a flood damaged Tacoma and a relative who has a friend or two in the dealership game recommended Chevrolet.

I offered up my anti-GM stance which included bailouts/unions/ignition switch fires/dealerships that got targeted.

The Tacoma I am looking at will have to be ordered. Leave it to me to locate an oddball. I found one at a dealer in NC but it was sold a couple of days before I could get to it. Another one like it should be in around the first of the month.

In the meantime I’ve gotten accustomed to the loaner “boat” of a 99 Dodge Diesel longbed 4x4 my dad doesn’t use much.

If it was a shortbed, I’d try to buy it from him. It isn’t practical for the burbs and downtown traffic.

At least one person offered him a blank check to buy it. He passed. I would have too.

Just the last fact alone means I'd think about buying one.

Wee need to enact tariffs now because China blocks our products. If you don't agree than you are a gloBULList fascist. Even Adam Smith favored retaliatory tariffs.

Go Trump go!

The UAW did this to themselves. They demanded $75,000 for a high school drop out to put lug nuts on cars with a full pension after just a few years.

Cars are ridiculously expensive.

I don’t think that is the thing to do.

He represents a view, and a considerable view in the GOP at the moment.

China is a very important trading partner. What I object to, is none of our leaders are standing up for America.

Donald Trump is for American businesses standing up for America once again. He’s about the only person on our side anymore.

I believe he’s going to win.

Once the USA’s industrial base( and the accompanying knowledge base ) is gone then we will be ripe for the pickin’s. The only good news is Europe will go first down the shitter.

If a very impoverished family has an attractive young daughter it would make economic sense to prostitute her and make money. Just business right?
