John Wayne brings us plenty of action, and plenty of laughs in this classic western comedy. Co-starring Maureen O'Hara, Yvonne De Carlo,

Great movie.

McClintock: Douglas, I come close to killin' you a couple of times when we were younger. Saddens me I didn't.
Nah! It's a solid #3 behind "The Shootist" and "True Grtit" though...
Nobody, but nobody could equal John Wayne on the screen, while he was on the screen, EXCEPT...
Maureen O'Hara
RIP
What makes the movie so great for me, is that a feminist wife gets a well deserved spanking and the whole town is better off because a husband did not allow female rebellion to continue.
Muslim men probably love that scene.
Humiliating and brutalizing women. Allah commands it.
Never saw a Duke Wayne movie I didn’t like except for some 1930’s stuff I couldn’t understand because of the foreign sounding antique recordings I can’t understand.
Did you bump your head before you wrote that?
I appreciate your posts. I don't have TV and have been known to go to bed and watch my little smartphone up close, in the dark, almost as if I'm back in the theater years ago, with a wide screen in front of me (less the surround sound). Always nice to see the cream of the crop of movies made.
You have seen that movie, have you not?
He strips her to her underwear and beats her with a spatula. In public.
Has got to be a stand up and cheer moment for the audiences in Qatar.
“True Grit” is #1.
Ned: Those are mighty big words for a one eye’d fat man!”
Duke: “Fill your hands you SOB!”
Muslims behead their wives for transgressions.
A comedic scene in a movie apparently befuddles you.
I go back and forth between “True Grit” and “The Shootist” as #1...
Some of wayne’s earlier stuff(westerns) was just outstanding.
Red River (the Shootist ties into this picture)
The Searchers
Both of these catch wayne as dark.
John Wayne thought wife beating is funny
Got it.
He gets to spank Maureen O’Hara. Nice work if you can get it.
“Beating”? A comedic scene of spanking with a spatula over seven layers of undergarments is a “beating”?
Should someone have called the police?
I know a guy whose ex-wife was a double in that film. Or so he told me.
If that’s the one where John Wayne’s character spanks a redhead, she was supposedly the one actually getting spanked.
Hey, well that’s what he told me about 3-4 years ago.
