My wife’s parents’ families are both from the province called Apulia, which has Bari as the principle city.

Rich in history dating to Greece, and true there was the Norman period. But there were also several other periods like Tuscan, Rome, French, Spanish, and there was German Holy Roman Emporer guy that built a cool castle with eight sides, etc.
