The denouement of a 35-year drama takes place Thursday at the U.S. attorney's office in Manhattan. And I trust that my father, virtuoso violinist Roman Totenberg, who died three years ago, will be watching from somewhere.

For decades he played his beloved Stradivarius violin all over the world. And then one day, he turned around and it was gone. Stolen.

While he was greeting well-wishers after a concert, it was snatched from his office at the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, Mass.

I just found out about this today. Philip who had this strad was my friend from about 1662 (5th grade) to about 2000 when i just couldn't take his negative stuff any longer. we started our local high school prayer meeting together. I think he played this everyday and used it recording our CD you can buy some on amazon i think. i am still astounded. it was most likely in my house for a year and a half while he lived here.

Wow. Either you really have longevity in your family, or you're vampires!

That’s an amazing story and it must feel weird to know you had an instrument worth hundreds of thousands of dollars in your house for so long.

Agree. She’s the trash who conspired with the ‘RATS on the Senate Judiciary Committee to torpedo the Supreme Court nomination of Clarence Thomas by spreading false allegations of sexual harassment made by that certifiable nutjob Anita Hill. The lowest point ever for the Senate and the Leftist media — “the high tech lynching of a black man.”

According to the article the appraiser she took the violin to identified it and immediately notified the FBI.

Fascinating story.

As soon as Totenberg finds out you are a Conservative, the FBI will charge you as an accessory!

Geeze!

You have really held up over the centuries, Mr. Peter Stuyvesant.

Can you elaborate how your friend, Peter Minuit, really acquired Man Hattan?
