Arcangelo Corelli

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Arcangelo Corelli (/kɔːˈrɛli/;[1] 17 February 1653 – 8 January 1713) was an Italian violinist and composer of the Baroque era. His music was key in the development of the modern genres of sonata and concerto, in establishing the preeminence of the violin, and as the first coalescing of modern tonality and functional harmony.[2]

Love the Christmas Concerto. May go give it a spin tonight.

For younger FReepers - "give it a spin" is a reference to the Ancient Days, when music files were kept on circular media known as "CDs". There are certain archaeological references to these once being kept on squiggly lines on vinyl platters called "records" but this is widely believed to be a myth.

Thanks for the thread. I am a huge fan of Baroque Era music and others ought to be as well. It was a great time for music on a grand scale.
