no. I’ll vote for him in the generals, but I can’t see Patton getting into a catfight with rosie o’donell or taking a shot at a POW (and yes, I hate McCain) I don’t think he would be concerned about people playing fair.
or maybe i’m wrong. I didn’t know the man.
Trump is like Trump
Patton is like Patton
Not the same, time, place, etc..
Two different universes— one is military and the other is the political universe.
TRUMP is Patton. I have said that dozens of times, so, yes I agree.
And Patton had his whiners, his can’t-do crowd and his share of pearl clutchers circling him, throughout his career.
TRUMP, 2016
That's as far as I read before my BS meter pegged out.
Not at all.
Trump is fearless with financial dealings.
But he has said more than once that he thinks the military men are braver than he is when it comes to actual fighting.
No, he’s not a military Patton, and I don’t think he would like the comparison.
Hey I think the Trumpsters hijacked your name.
Donald Trump is exactly like George Patton, if Patton had never fought in any war and had pleaded bone spurs as an excuse to avoid service.
No. Next stupid question?
Confidence trumps ideology every time.
No, Patton would have never dodged the draft using foot bone spurs, which were never removed and must have magically disappeared.
Patton was an Olympic athlete, a designer, a poet, and a classic soldier.
Trump is not any of those things.
Neither Trump or Patton are/were politically correct.
Patton probably showed his courage most in Mexico. A young lieutenant, he shot either 1, 2, or 3 Mexicans including Poncho Villa’s second in command.
Three were killed but Patton may not have been the only one to shoot them.
Since Patton was a world class pistol shooter and he was described as standing rock solid as the Mexicans shot at him. This while shooting at the Mexicans, my guess is he killed at least two of them.
Anyway Patton carved one notch on his .45 Peacemaker and tied the Mexicans to the fenders of his car and presented them to a shocked Pershing.
Nothing in common at all. Patton had core values.
The Donald has many traits of Patton. He also has some traits of Regan and probably a lot of other people. I don’t think I’d want Patton for president. It’s great to win a war, but winning the peace is more important. Obama’s fiasco in Iraq and Afghanistan is ample proof. Can Trump win the peace after the battle? That is the big question.
No.
Making this comparison is ludicrous. General Patton was a career military man his entire life. His superior was General Eisenhower, whose superior was General Marshall whose superior was President Roosevelt. All of these people had one thing in common. Leadership. Trump has great leadership qualities. The current occupant of the White House is totally devoid of leadership, and the current leading Democrat candidate, Hillary, has even less leadership experience than 0Bamma. Additionally, Trump has an affinity and great respect for the military and those who served. Hillary has absolute hatred, total disdain for the military. Just ask anyone who was part of the Clinton White House. Trump will trust the military and its capability. Hillary will have distrust and suspicion of the military, and will make hare brained decisions, even worse than the current empty suit in the White House.
