So what was the point of the Indian headdresses anyway? Because of the yacht being named Comanche? I’m not an expert on these things, but I thought the full feathered headdresses as shown in the article were a Sioux thing, and I’m not aware that the Comanche ever wore such. If I am wrong, I’m certain that someone will correct me.

I believe Sheryvogel's painting of CUSTER'S DEMAND was criticized because he showed Comanche and Kiowa with Cheyenne head dresses.

But then, the Cheyenne often allied themselves with the southern tribes so some Comanche could have adapted a Cheyenne head dress.
