Sarah Palin is slamming daughter Bristol's former fiance after he filed court papers involving the couple's daughter Sailor. Dakota Meyer filed papers seeking joint legal and physical custody of Sailor Grace, who was born on December 23 in Alaska.
In the court documents filed by Meyer which were obtained by TMZ he is also asking for one other thing from Bristol - child support. Sarah responded by telling Entertainment Tonight in a statement; 'For many months we have been trying to reach out to Dakota Myers [sic] and he has wanted nothing to do with either Bristol's pregnancy or the baby.'
She then said that Meyer is just trying to 'save face'. Bristol's rep also released a statement, saying: 'My values are such that a real American hero doesn't ask for child support.'Â

Why are you assuming Ms. Palin wouldn’t lie about something like that? Just as likely he told her and she figured it wouldn’t become known. Then the “divorce” happened and we get CYA from Team Palin.

And now it’s starting to become clearer WHY Bristol called off the wedding. She apparently began to get an inkling of his low character. Fortunately she did it BEFORE she was married and further entangled with him.
IMHO, this “hero†is looking for a meal ticket. He’ll just have to survive on his MOH pension and other benefits-— and maybe, just maybe, by actually getting and holding a job.
IMO, they are negotiating a child support agreement. All issues would be on the table as a negotiation tactic.
Using the bully pulpit of celebrity to smear the other party publicly is pretty low character. Very disappointing the Palin’s would do that.

I have always liked Sarah, but Bristol is NOT the bright light her mother is.
I know that no one is perfect, and I know that we are all fallen, sinful people...even recipients of the Medal of Honor. Even so, this whole thing is just disgusting.
Bristol sounds like the affluenza kid. Getting into trouble and expecting Mom and Dad to make things right. She’s a grownup now. She should know better not to get pregnant outside of marriage.
Yep. Pretty amazing many people are not considering that maybe Saint Bristol of Affluenza is telling a fib or two in this sad story. I was a fan of Palin but airing this child custody stuff publicly is a trailer trash move.

Dakota Meyer is both employed and a published author whose book is still selling well.
If that makes him a lazy unemployed bum then the status applies double to you.

Props to Dakota for his military heroism. Having performed heroically in a military action is, however, no guarantee that a person will behave honorably in other situations. He may well have some financial, behavioral and drinking problems and he has filed lawsuits against others for monetary gain (settlements). Filing lawsuits doesn’t make you a bad person, necessarily, but a pattern of them may raise a red flag, IMHO. I won’t be discussing any of this further here.
