There’s a guy who works with my husband who’s out (middle) age. He’s divorced and recently reentered the dating pool.
A few times a week, they have lunch together and the man regales my husband with horror stories of his attempts to date women. (They are hilariously *bad* stories! One woman actually pulled a gun on him in a restaurant.)
Hubs doesn’t find them funny, though. He’s wide-eyed. He actually told me, “Screw that. I’ll just stay with *you*! You’re not *that* crazy... For a woman, you’re actually all right.”
(And yes, our marriage is rock-solid and always has been. Which is why we can tease like this and not get upset.) :)

Let me guess, is the new wife by any chance subservient to the two previous wives? if so I would say the existing wives were getting tired of doing the house work and wanted a maid.
They (the 2 wives) want to have to copulate with the old bastard less often.
I went on ~one~ date with a woman from Uganda around the turn of the last century.
She was attractive and pleasant. The deal breaker for me was when she told me her father had 7 wives and she had 27 brothers and sisters.
