Attendance at Church of England services has plunged to its lowest level ever as the Archbishop of Canterbury warned it was battling to maintain its place in an increasingly âanti-Christianâ culture. Official figures â based on an annual pew count â show that only 1.4 per cent of the population of England now attend Anglican services on a typical Sunday morning.

Soon to be a Mosque
But but we did what everyone wanted and have gay female priests and so why aren’t they flooding in?
I wonder how the non-denominational, Bible based churches are doing in England?
Based on the rock or adultery?
I’d reply but there’s nothing to be said.
” the Archbishop of Canterbury warned it was battling to maintain its place in an increasingly “anti-Christian” culture. “
Yes, and some of the strongest leaders in that “anti-Christian” culture are the bishops and archbishops of the Church of England !
This. Exactly. There are none so blind...
“It is a struggle, but we are not losing.”
Not in terms of winning vs losing - we know numbers aren’t the final guide to victory. But it’s fairly obvious you ARE losing - your culture and heritage.
And if the Mohammedans ask them to convert to Islam, be enslaved, or die, guess which one they will not choose.
They are mostly African and Caribbean immigrants or children of immigrants.
Almost no white native English attend any church regularly - less than 2.5%.
The main churchgoers are Irish and Polish Catholics, elderly Church of Englanders and Methodists, and black Assemblies of God and nondenominational Protestants.
That kind of $h*+ tends to happen when you no longer stand for anything but political correctness.
“He’s dead, Jim.” Stick a fork in it.
The Lord Jesus promised to build His church and that the gates of hell would not prevail against it. As Wayne Jacobsen (www.lifestream.org) asks, “So then, after 2000 years - how do you think He is doing?”
“Could it be that what we think of when we use the word “church” is something completely different from what He meant?”
If we look at every institution/organization that calls itself the church, and if we are honest, we must confess that it is a disastrous failure. For the most part it represents fallen man and his nature and character - men who rule and are after position, power and glory, and are frequently living secretly in sin.
The answer to Wayne’s astute question is an unavoidable yes. What is known by the world is NOT the true church, the bride of Christ, who is making herself ready for Him. Right now, she is mostly hidden. Yes, some of her is inside those walls the world calls “the church”, but it’s likely that her greater part is outside those walls. And more and more so every day......
Church attendance “Plunges” and so goes England!
Well maybe now the ISIS faux Christians will find a place to hide?
That's the point. Homos WANT to destroy the church. Pretending they wanted to be part of it was the route to its destruction.
CoE is a major player in the anti-Christian movement in England.
Amend accordingly. What is the answer?
Don’t know much about it, but, based on what I have read in various articles posted here, I would say that the C of E is anti-Christian itself these days.
