Yes, those pills can take away whatever it is that acts as a governor of our behavior. We would do better to send these returning men on a fishing trip at a nice campsite so they can unwind and tune into nature and other good things.

It is sad, they come back and people act as if there is/was no war.

I can see where that is difficult to square when you saw buddies blown up around you or you have lost a limb or limbs and/or are paralyzed.

I have a friend who was an Army Ranger. He and one other buddy survived a direct hit to the vehicle they were in where everyone else died. He will not talk about the event. He has a quiet inner strength, and I still pray for him.

I agree with you! Taking pills doesn’t ‘work through’ anything. It MAYBE just covers it up. And most of those drugs have potentially deadly side effects- not to mention suicides. We’re losing too many of our vets to suicide as it is. A bunch of the mass shooters that have happened were taking SSRIs, .
