LYNCHBURG, VIRGINIA -- The young evangelical Christians at Liberty University in Virginia, a coveted voting bloc wooed this week by Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump, are facing a bit of a dilemma.

Should they vote as most evangelicals have in the past, for a "pro-life" anti-abortion candidate, or should they embrace a new set of values?

This one is easy. Trump read number 2 Corinthians. Now he knows all about the Bible.

Which brings up a good point. Trump is "mirroring" the Republican base. If we like coke - he likes coke. If we like cookies - he likes cookies. If we want to save babies, he now wants to save babies. He appears to be the PERFECT reflection of ...us! BUT, he can't mirror the Christians because he doesn't understand them. He can't reflect back at them what he doesn't know. He can't act the part. He fails to make the sale.

This is why Trump fails every time someone asks him about the Bible. He flops around like a fish out of water. The mirror he holds up to hide the real Donald Trump crashes to the floor and the real Trump is exposed. He stands there naked for everyone to see.

They loved Reagan...and he signed an abortion rights bill as California governor....SIX years before Roe v. Wade. Relax, folks, Trump will not disappoint you.

I don’t think there is any credible reason to believe that Trump would:

1. Appoint pro life judges to the Supreme Court
2. Stop promoting abortions abroad internationally as Obama does
3. Speak strongly against Roe v Wade and for the Pro life cause.

And yet all of these things are reasonable questions and to my knowledge remain either unknown or fulfilled by not so distant past statements where Trump mocked “Iowa values” compared to his superior New York Values.

New York values free and legal abortions. That is the ugly hard truth and I see very little reassurance on the is imperative matter.

How can you be so sure? Do you know that he said that his sister would make a great Supreme Court justice (and she is a big liberal pro-abortion person) and he has trashed Justice Scalia. Would you like to trash Justice Scalia too? And Reagan was never as hard nosed and adamant about abortion as Trump. You do know that Trump stated that he supported late term abortion? If he is nominated I will hope and pray that you are right. But in the meantime, I will support a sure voice on the sanctity of life, Ted Cruz.

Abortion is not the issue. Neither is global warming, gays, more gun control, less gun control, no gun control, neither is who goes to church on Sunday or not, nor the rapture, nor even water pollution or calls from sales campaigns to your home phone number even if you are on the no call list, nor bird flu.

There are three issues, and I will add one more behind the scenes that the silent but not so silent anymore majority thanks to Trump issues.
The economy, Islamic terrorism, and one of the biggest of all, illegal immigration viz refugees and criminal aliens. That is why Trump is the front runner. You guys who do not get this will lose the election. But I do not think you will get the nomination anyway, so carry on and be off message from the eye on the prize. Run your campaign on abortion and good luck.

I will add one more to the three. It did play a part, in the under layer, in previous decades.

Crime. The word means all those things, the cop killers domestic terrorists, the looters and thugs and BLM racists, the gangs and much of this tied back to criminal aliens as well, the home invasions and the lie that it is only black on black crime when just looking at the police websites on targeted home invasions it is clear it is also black on white, and the attacks on people with a side cock hit, the crime, people are sick of it and how the goons are running wild and turned into even civil rights leaders.

Crime will also be an issue in 2016, no question about it. And anyway, Trump is not going to support abortion, this is all crap. He will appoint the right Judges, not the wrong ones. But get on message, please. Otherwise the Senate is lost, and many seats in Congress if Cruz is the guy. Stay on message.
By the way, Pat Buchanan is on FOX right now sticking up for Trump, and I was a Buchanan guy. Why is it wrong to preserve this country in Nationalism in this Davos globalism world? Pat would be a great VP actually. I would be so happy.

Go Trump.

Interesting analogy. It does seem to explain a few things. Thanks.

And you think he set this up on purpose? Or is it just what you want us to think? Don't you get tired of the negativity?

They loved Reagan...and he signed an abortion rights bill as California governor....SIX years before Roe v. Wade.

...as well as one of the single most destructive pieces of legislation in American social history, "no-fault" divorce, one of the cornerstones of the Sexual Revolution that has wrecked so many lives.

Bottom line, no one is perfect; and you're not electing a pope, but an executive. Citizens are still responsible for taking an active role in who gets selected for their representatives, both locally and nationally. Presidents can sign bills; but first they have to come from the legislatures.

You’re just as Biblically ignorant as Trumpie.

He will be in freefall after a few more clumsy rallies in enemy territory.

This after Sarah made a fool of herself in Tulsa.

They could be a dynamic duo.

If Trump wins Iowa and New Hampshire—you will see him with Sarah as he tours the South. He is her friend—and unlike the Clintons and Obamas, Trump doesn’t toss friends under the bus. Trump isn’t like any other political figure you have even seen in this century or the last.

And you think he set this up on purpose?

It's his pageant! He chose gay activist and gossip monger to be a judge at his beauty pageant. Would you do that? He never sad he was unhappy with what happened and he rudely fired the Christian girl a month later?

You know how Trump controls everything. How can you now claim he's some powerless naif?

Don't you get tired of the negativity?

And Trump isn't negative? He always is?

And I'm tired of him bashing the U.S. He isn't proud of this country until he is president? Shades of Obama. He should go back to Scotland.

I guess I’m just more focused on illegal immigration, the horrible economy, the towering debt, the threatened refugee invasion, the awful care at the VA and the gutting of our military than I am about a fight between a couple of queens; but hey, that’s just me.

He doesn't bash the U.S. -- he loves this country. He bashes the terrible, horrible, stupid governance and corruption that has become the DC cartel, the Uniparty. Are you proud of the way our "representatives" have been conducting the nation's business?

As for Scotland, Trump and his father were born in the United States. His Scottish-born mother became naturalized four years before he was born, making him a fully eligible, natural-born citizen.
