The headmistress of a £33,000-a-year girls' boarding school has called for parents to bring up their children in a 'gender neutral' way so that youngsters can try out 'male' and 'female' roles.

Heathfield school's Jo Heywood believes one of the benefits of gender neutral parenting is that it would produce girls confident about entering careers such as science and engineering, traditionally regarded as a man's world.

Princess Alexandra, the actress Sienna Miller and the model Amber Le Bon, daughter of Duran Duran's Simon, are among the famous alumni of the school in Ascot, Berkshire.

Ms. Heywood told Sian Griffiths of The Sunday Times: 'If a little boy wants to explore wearing a princess dress and a little girl wants to spend time in a fireman's outfit, then that is to be encouraged ... Have girlie make-up, but let boys have it too.' ...

Full title: Head of £33,000-a-year girls' boarding school says boys should wear princess dresses and girls dress up as firemen as she calls for 'gender neutral' parenting

Heywood is only qualified to dig ditches. Nice gender-neutral job for her.

Good grief. Wiston Churchill’s bust isn’t needed there either, apparently. They seem to have forgotten they were once a mighty nation brought low by socialism...ouch...that hurts to write.

Gender neutral? So how does this idiot think babies are made? Like asexual worms?

Her secret plan is to exterminate the upper class.
Keeping them from reproducing is nearly as effective as the guillotine, but less controversial.

WTH? What parent even remotely qualified to bear that title would send their kid to this Fruitcake Academy? Those poor kids would be pulled every which way just like taffee. Take this weirdo out of any position near children and assign her some basket weaving.

I hear the propaganda on the radio almost constantly.

Girls are just as interested in math and science until they reach puberty.

Then, quite *inexplicably* girls lose most of their interest in math and science.

It *has* to be because we are such a *sexist* society. It cannot have anything to do with hormones kicking in. Everyone knows that is impossible. To even consider that is sexist! For some strange reason, it seems that all societies have the same sexist problem. It is obvious that all are suffering from sexism. /S.

Yes it is. In a pillowcase, slung at the head.

What’s the difference between this school and a (U.S.) public school?

In public school (”State school,” UK version) the kids get screwed up for free.

In this school parents pay $50,000 (rough U.S. equivalent) for it.

The gays must be annoyed with the gender neutral agitators. Gays say they are born that way while gender neutral agitators say one can choose if one is male or female.

...think this is a new form of homophobia/s

“Heathfield school's Jo Heywood believes one of the benefits of gender neutral parenting is that it would produce girls confident about entering careers such as science and engineering, traditionally regarded as a man's world.”

So she is a hateful sexist who doesn't care about the psychological effects of her proposed ‘experiment’, especially as regards its effects on boys.

I would not concede her even that much. She should be fired and undergo extensive counseling for her mental problems. But, of course, all liberals need counseling for their mental problems.

Well, now you know why European men are just letting muslim immigrants sexually assault their women; they are trained from birth to be girly men..

It is obvious that all are suffering from sexism

One of the biggest leftist, fem-nazi lies is that all boys were encouraged to do well in school-math, while girls were discouraged.

In my family, neither me nor my six siblings four boys, three girls) were encouraged to do well in school. Our parents virtually never asked us about school. But we were well encouraged to stay out of trouble.

Nevertheless, I had one sister who was extremely good in math without any encouragement. My own efforts in math were pretty lackluster.

The reality is males, on average, are naturally a little stronger in the math and science fields than females. Nobody should be discouraged, but facts can be discomfiting to people with an agenda.

I have a friend who is a beautiful young woman, a Christian, doing quite well in here career as an aeronautical engineer. She didn't get her confidence or abilities from the way her parents (also Christians) dressed her as a child. Her mother, an attractive, intelligent woman in her own right, happens to be the CFO for a heavy equipment firm.

I’m a female engineer with IT experience. I’ve had feminists blow up at me when I say I’m a better example of feminist ideals, though conservative and a mother, than they are sitting in majority female social science programs to become professional whining.
They are taking the easy way to a college degree with liberal arts programs or socially acceptable nurturing jobs like medicine and childcare and teaching. The math and science in engineering is hard - I know, I took differential equations and linear algebra.
The gender difference is in how many guys want to design and build stuff and thus slog through the hard courses, instead of taking an easier route. There’s also a modest difference in how many guys are good at the high math relative to women, but not as large as the gap in desire to go into STEM.
I can attest to the career differential for adults. When you have kids, it is pretty much impossible for a woman to work the weekend shifts and long hours many employers demand - and guys make more for taking those shifts relative to the women. Before we had kids, my husband and I were neck and neck on salary. Afterwards, he makes more because he can travel and work the weekend when I’m home with the kids. I had to turn down opportunities to travel because we couldn’t both be out of town. But it is a choice we made, not sexism. I’ve worked with women who had spouses who did the inverse. And too many women cut their options short by having a kid without a stable partner, and lose out on training, overtime and travel because they are raising kids alone. That’s not sexism but lack of division of labor in the household.

I can attest to everything you posted.

IMHO the whole feminist SJW ‘equal pay’ tempest is about social science majors (who in my experience spent every weekend and nearly every week night partying because their majors were the ‘easy’ ones) being paid the same thing as an engineer or other STEM field.

They want something for nothing. As is usual for SJW’s.

What was interesting was how most guys in the profession were supportive when I was pregnant (barring “for the love of God, do not throw up in the clean room”) and had a newborn with health problems.
But I had feminists telling me at 25 I was too young to have kids, though we owned a house and had been married several years at that point.
Fast forward a few years, and I take both my son and daughter to engineering day, take both their troops to STEM events, give career day appearances. I’m doing more for the STEM field than a bunch of women who never did anything technical except update a blog or share on social media. But I don’t count, like Clarence Thomas doesn’t count as black, because I don’t fit the ideology.
