This is one of my absolute favorite Tommy Emmanuel pieces. Hauntingly beautiful. Enjoy!
Freep mail me if you want to be on a ping list for Fingerstyle Acoustic Guitar Music.
I thought you might enjoy this one.
Tommy or Doyle Dykes? I think it’s close, but both are outstanding musicians who get guitars to do things mere mortals cannot.
Tommy has a larger repertoire, but Doyle has better hair.
If anyone wants to try to play this song, here is the tab.
Note: Tommy’s guitar is tuned down 1 1/2 steps and the tab starts at the top of page 2. Ignore all the stuff on page 1.
I use 11-47 silk and steel strings, and I don’t think they will go that low without significant buzzing. I think you need medium gauge strings to pull it off. Or you can just tune it regularly, but I think you will lose a lot of the haunting melody.
I’ve seen a few covers of this song, but nobody even comes close to Tommy’s. Good luck.

Fantasic! Thanks P-Marlowe. Really been enjoying your posts. Refreshing break from a tough primary season. Please add me to your ping list - don’t want to miss any Tommy, Sandra, and other great artists.
That's why I decided to do this. We all need a break. Playing or listening to great music is a great way to undo the stress.
Add me to your ping list, please.
I started out with this book by Richard Saslow. Fairly easy and fun tunes to play. Most of them are on youtube so you can listen to what they sound like.
