Another hauntingly beautiful guitar piece by Tommy Emmanuel. Enjoy!
Those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint."Â -Isaiah 40.31
Ping to the Fingerstyle Acoustic Guitar Ping list.
If anyone wants to be on my Fingerstyle Acoustic Guitar ping list, please freep mail me.
Also if you want to try to play this song, the link below will take you to a video of the Guitar Pro Tab.
If you have Guitar Pro, then you can probably find the tab somewhere. The Guitar Pro web site has a lot of really good tabs for free. If you don’t have Guitar Pro (then get it!) or you can watch the video below.
There are also a lot of videos of lessons of this song. It is playable by intermediate guitar players. I know, because I learned it.
Good luck and happy picking:

Very nice.
I discovered Tommy Emanuel when I realized he was the only one who could play “Classical Gas” better than Mason Williams ;-) But his “one man band” stuff is really the greatest, along with the shows he did with his brother - all on Youtube.
He even did a TED presentation where you have a chance to get a sense for the man behind the six strings:

I’ve seen him live a few times. Love his live stuff. I have a harder time enjoying it with audio only because when you can’t see him playing, it could have just as well been 3-4 people playing instead. :)

To “get” the magic of Tommy Emmanuel you’ve got to see him playing, and it helps if you play a little guitstick yourself so that you realize just what he’s doing. :)
He’s amazing, you ever hear him play “Somewhere over the rainbow”? Just utterly utterly mind blowing.....

Don’t miss the TED talk I linked above, wherein he explains and demonstrates some of his techniques.
And he closes with some good philosophy: “Life is not a rehersal, so get on with it!”
That is to say, the most technically demanding and skillfully difficult piece to perform really becomes quite pointless if, in the end, it just sounds like hard-to-play, dissonant crap.
Better luck next time, Tommy.
I'm not familiar with TE's version of the song, but looking forward to hearing it.
Here's MW's version...

Speaking of music, here is one music mystery I found today...I always seem to find these. This guy from what I can ascertain calls himself “Michael Meanwhile” put out all these songs in the past 10 years, a lot of them incredibly brilliant, well sung yet he is completely and utterly unknown. I mean utterly unknown to the point where his videos barely get more than 4 views TOTAL.
I did some research and found he’s put out 3 albums that never sold, some songs were used in TV commercials and a TV show, but other than that, he is a completely mystery.

How effed up is the music industry today where a guy like this is completely ignored, bypassed while absolute morons like Kanye West are coddled and promoted relentlessly?
I’d have to agree on much of that harmonic stuff. It’s just too limiting, and the song gets forced into the available notes. It becomes a “look at what I can do” piece.
You’d probably like something like this a lot more... though you’ll need to make it to about 1:30 to really hear the full “sound” that Emmanuel is famous for.

Huh?? Are you for real?
For one thing his YouTube videos only mention the *title* of his songs. #NationalFlower appears beneath the video, but his apparent name for himself, or his group?, "National Flower"?, as dopey as that is, if used as a search word, probably wouldn't lead to his videos.
What the heck is that even supposed to mean? You're probably the only one who knows.
Yeah, I get the impression the guy really doesn’t want attention. I mean I could post a video of myself burping and get a 1000 hits in week just by using social media, and this guy has 2 or 3 hits in 4 or 5 months ?? Obviously he doesn’t care which is bizarre. I found his albums being sold on CDbaby and even then, they barely sells. It looks like he’s sold maybe 10 copies in 10 years. I don’t know, maybe music is just a hobby to him, pretty crazy because if he hired a marketing firm and got a good agent he could make a LOT of money, not so much from music sales but licensing for commercials, movies, TV shows
LOL! Just what I was thinking, what is he talking about? LOL
If this garbage below is what you are referring to, you seriously need to clean your ears out. Compare it again to Manson William's classic version above.

Seems to me like he/she was trying more to impress us with word usage than anything else.
Hubby and I got to see Tommy live in December. Amazing musician! Hubs said that he had heard Emmanuel tell the story of teaching himself guitar by listening to his albums and then trying to duplicate the guitar sound.
The “entire” guitar sound...he taught himself to play lead and base at the same time because he didn’t know any better.
It’s worth it to see the man live. It’s as though the guitar is an extension of himself. Brilliant!
