Donald Trump's boast that if he had been president, the September 11 jihad terror attacks would not have happened because "if I were running things, I doubt those people would have been in the country," has been gaining him even more notoriety and cheers from foes of Obama's immigration policies. What Trump would do to prevent jihad terror attacks by domestic jihadis, or Sharia encroachment on American freedoms, however, is far less clear than his stance on immigration, and some of the things he has said about these matters should give even the most full-throated of his enthusiasts considerably less to cheer about.
Several weeks ago, in the midst of Ben Carson's remarks on sharia, Eric Bolling of Fox News asked Trump: "Would you want the president or a candidate to say, 'I will promise to uphold the Constitution over the Sharia law'?" Trump replied: "Well, I think it's an argument I don't want to get into, it's not my argument, so it's an argument that I won't get into."

This article offers a cogent glimpse into what a Trump Presidency will look like: if there's an argument that the Donald does not care to engage, then it will be shunted off to the sidelines.
Apologies in advance, but my html is limited. The url for the interview is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfOrDM8zIpk. The referenced comments are made about halfway into the interview.
He didn't even say how EVIL it is without just tossing it aside.
Sounds like Obama and Holder when they told all the State AGs of all the laws they did not want them to uphold.
Picking and choosing like that makes a nation lawless.
yeah you’re right, we’d all better vote for Bernie the communist.
Your article supplies lots of “opinions” derived from one sentence?
There was no mention of Sharia in the question asked of Trump, yet you twist it into this?
Wow.
Have some more Kool Aid.
Banning all Muslims from entering the U.S.
That’s a good start to stopping Sharia I’d say.
People are cheering on their own destruction with Trump.
Man, talking about a stretch. The opposition to Trump is reaching ludicrous levels of desperation.
I agree a Muslim ban would be for effective then a Sharia law ban
No Muslims, no Sharia law
Simple
Trump will have his attack dog go after and humiliate Carrie Prejean because she’s Christian, but he won’t say anything about Sharia law.
Sorry some people are willing to stick up for their country and not just let it get flushed down the toilet like that.
It’s a disturbing quote to me because they were already here, Saying they wouldn’t have been here implies that he would have been either serving a second term or blissfully unaware of how 9/11 was staged...attending flight schools, setting up the crews...taking practice flights...for months and months while Bubba was doing who knows what. They had already hung the framework, they were just waiting for the right time to pull the trigger. A great deal of their time table was pushed back by the lost time in looking at hanging chads etc and the “pranks” pulled by the WH staffers and their “sick outs” to help new staffers get underway and learn their way around. There was no imminent threat. So, with all due respect, the most troubling aspect of that statement is either in the ignorance of what chaos there was (and could be again). god forbid it could happen to the next administration, but I am not hopeful that transforming this White House into an efficient machine will be any easier, given the animosity. Hope Mr. Trump is going to be ready for that. This is not going to be an easy transition and the jihadis love to strike when their is a new guy.
That is a very disconcerting answer, to put it mildly. Is it possible that Trump (at the time of the interview) didn't know what Sharia Law was, and avoided answering because he didn't want to show his ignorance? But even if that's true, a safe answer would've been "as President, I'd be swearing to uphold the Constitution, period."
Sounds more like he was not aware of Sahria Law was at the time, four months ago...if it is an accurate post.
I have no douts that he either already has, or will become aware of it...and when he does, he will be all the more satisfied and confortable with his gut decision to stop all Muslim immigration to this country.
We can already judge what his feelings in the matter are from that simple decision he has made...and stuck too.

Did you see the latest Trump take down?
CNN Was just saying that Trump’s tax returns would reveal the truth about Trump......
Because Mitt Romney said it MIGHT reveal things he does not want out there
They are grasping at straws at this point
They are used to putting up their bought and paid for candidate like Bush, Rubio, Cruz and say, you like him, his your guy, vote for him
Then they do the same with the Democrats
And then these two “battle it out” till the general election
And in the end of the day, they are the same backed by the same people
Trump is different, when you see the left and the right try to take him down, you know he is right for America
I am so sick of every chicken sh@t person coming up with every chicken sh*t reason they won’t vote while claiming to care about this country.
Now it’s over one sentence allegedly not strict enough against Muslims, when Trump has made serial comments against Muslims and Islam which even I think are edgy?
I think all you I won’t vote people should go straight to hell. You are a waste of time.
Go Trump!
Oh for God’s sake. Trump probably didn’t want to make an off the cuff remark about a legal question he’s unsure of. Nobody knows the answer to every question they get asked. If Trump answers wrong the press will skewer him for it. It does not mean he wants Sharia law.
Trump ripped Pamela Geller for her Muhammed drawing contest too. This cowering to shariah law is entirely consistent for Trump.
Trump: Pamela Geller ‘Taunting Everybody’
“I watched Pam prior, and it looks like she’s just taunting everybody,” said Trump. “What is she doing? Drawing Muhammad and it looks like she’s taunting people.”
And while he called the violence “disgusting,” Trump said he wonders “what are they doing drawing Muhammad? Isn’t there something else they can draw? They can’t do something else? They have to be in the middle of Texas and on Muhammad?”
He said he has to question why Geller would organize such an event.
“You know, I’m one that believes in free speech, probably more than she does,” said Trump. “What’s the purpose of this? She’s taunting them...I don’t know, maybe she likes risk. What the hell is she doing?”
I interpreted Trump’s response as simply a clumsy way to get out of associating himself with Carson and the criticism Carson was taking. It was a misstep, but without supporting evidence, not worth hanging him on.
