This exact scenario happened to me last week and I’m running Vista for cryin’ out loud. Had to use system restore and disable Windows Update service. My plan is to wait 30 days and try again...

I installed the update on my laptop last night and have had a few mysterious issues today with internet connectivity going away for short periods of time and then coming back.

Had nothing to do with my provider or my connection either. All the other machines in the office were up on the web while I was down.

Sure wish I was still running Win 7. Win 10 is a big step backwards.

Not going near Windows 10.

Seems to me that when Bill Gates is told to, he can send out one of these toxic updates, and cripple Americans’ ability to resist the government, communicate with one another, etc.

Running Windows 10 on 10+ PCs with zero problems. Lots of complainers and Linux pushers on this thread. Same old BS - stay with Windows XP, Vista, 7 or install Linux. Bunch of complaining, rinse, repeat. Lame.

If you get it free, you’ve got ZERO LEVERAGE over MS.

This is why their whole forced updates you cant refuse strategy will not fly with me.

Bye microsquish. Staying with what works, and using different when I have to.

I’ve never been forced to update my Windows 7 laptop.

The Win10 updates borked my video editing software on Win7. I disabled updates and blocked Microsoft at the router.

Time to abandon Microsoft computers and go over to a safe operating system such as Apple : )

I play both sides.

I’m glad I switched to the Ubuntu based JULinux. It is a reSpin of the Xubuntu desktop, whose project leader is a born again Christian and resides in Pomeroy, Washington. I have also used Slackware Linux, that is more complicated to install and configure, but I definitely prefer Slackware over Windows.

Here here. This happened to me last week. $hittee MS forced an update (you can not turn them off) and my computer was bricked. I had to go back through a “restore point.”

Windows ten is garbage. I hate MS and wish there was an alternative for my applications. There ain’t and before the Linux guys tell me, No. Lindows or any other linux method will not work with my software.

Running Windows 10 on 6 machines. No problems. It appears lean and fast. Turned off all the spyware capability I could find.
