I just ordered a CZ75 SP01. I have heard Many good things about it. I already love CZ and have considered the CZ75B for a while, but the SP01 is (to me)a must have. Full size, high cap, reliable and Pretty. There is some questions on springs (#'s) and plastic guide rods. Has anyone had issues?? I am getting it anyway but would like to know what I may need to do to it. I hope it makes the canoe trip home.
Mayhap a picture or two would help alleviate our ignorance,
posting pic is a pain.
Good looking pistol, nice reviews. I wouldn’t mind having one in my gun cabinet.
I have a CZ 97B, a P-O1 and a Kadet. I replaced the guide springs with SS.
Interesting, someone found that a brass door hinge pin worked.
But the plastic guide rods worked fine and make it easier to re-assemble after cleaning.
I replaced the recoil spring with a stiffer Wolff spring on the bigger gun.
Aesthetics: if you replace the grips, look at CZ walnut at the CZ Store online. Thin aluminum CZ grips for the 97.
I like Sellier and Bellot ammo, otherwise, any good American stuff, FMJ for the big gun.
Guide springs= guide rods
Get back wuick if u have questions. I’m almost asleep.
Congrats , I was just looking at the P01 and the P07 last night on YouTube. Unfortunately the P07 is not on the approved gun roster here in California. Why did you choose the alloy as opposed to the polymer?
Do be careful, its really terrible when you loose all of the weapons you worked so hard to accumulate, only to fall to the bottom of a lake. I lost everything I had on / at Lake Bozo.
In Case you don't know, Lake Bozo, is 10 (ten) Light-years deep. ;-)
I am going to use the rubber grips for now. They fit my hand Very nicely and I like the sights, I might want a light gathering sight for the front.
That model has the de-cocker.
The SP01 is all steel. Heavy but very low recoil
I replaced the front sight on the 97 with a glow rod. You don’t need gunsmithng, just take your time. I did have to buy a punch for the little roll pin, about $3. And you do it from only one side.
The SP01 Tactical has the decocker. I prefer the safety. Its not going to be a carry gun (too big) but it should kick ass at the range or the bedside.
*Scruggs*...just helping fellow freep
Which side??
Oooh! Gun porn! That’s purty! CZ makes good stuff.
It’s a nice feature to have if for some reason your hands are shaking and you don’t trust yourself to drop the hammer manually.
Have it on the P-O1, but just a safety on the .45.
The nice thing about a big pistol like the SP or 97 is it feels so solid, less felt recoil.
Downside, it’s a little heavy compared to a striker pistol.
But you’re really going to like the CZ quality, fit and finish!
