Donald Trump Is An EB-5 Funded Developer (Visa Selling Scheme in New Jersey to Chinese Elite)
Green Mountain Daily ^ | Moe Lane/RS

Posted on 03/11/2016 12:03:07 AM PST by AmericanInTokyo

It seems Donald Trump and Vermont’s NEK mega developer Bill Stenger have something in common-they both love EB-5 investors from China.

Considering all his anti-immigration and China is “killing us,” stealing our jobs and money rhetoric, Trump surprisingly has no qualms accepting Chinese investor financing for a development project in New Jersey under the Trump® name. chairmantrump1

The Federal EB-5 visa program provides foreign investors with a US green card, for them and their families, and (after two years) permanent resident status in exchange for agreeing to invest $500,000 in an approved US business. In recent years the majority of EB-5 foreign investment funds have been from wealthy Chinese. EB-5 provides a “safe” place for their cash outside of China. Is it possible Donald’s EB-5 immigrant investors are issued a Trump visa card?

The Trump investors’ EB-5 money is for a 50-story luxury apartment building in New Jersey only a short distance from Lower Manhattan. It is licensed under the Trump name and run by the Kushner Company. Jared Kushner is married to Trump’s daughter Ivanka.

About the Chinese funded NJ development, a Trump spokesperson says: “This was a highly successful license deal but he [Trump] is not a partner in the financing of the development.”

In his campaign for the Republican nomination for president Monday, Trump took a break from beating up on China, and in remarks the NYTimes.com called “unusual, if not anachronistic,” went after Japan for currency manipulation. And the band — or at least its bombastic tuba — plays on.

China. Visas. Immigration. Trump Bay Street. Trump. Kushner Companies. Corruption. America For Sale. Double standard. (The Red Chinese press in Chinese on the Web has been active with this story over the last few days, including the Chinese Communist Party official "People's Daily". ("Ren Min Ri Bao"/China.cn, etc.) Wonder how many of these were PRC government agents, PLA General's and their families, and other jetsam and flotsam from Beijing heading for New Jersey.) "China's killing us", right?

Not sure what your problem with this program is...

The EB-5 is a jobs generator...It encourages foreign businessmen to bring in funds to invest in businesses in the US.

What is the problem with bringing bringing money into the US from China or anywhere else? This is really the opposite of sending US dollars abroad.

Credible articles from China on this legal yet questionable scheme (scam?) over the last three days or so.

When will Trump start eating kittens and stomping on puppies with big spiky boots made by Vietnamese children?

It is called scraping the bottom of the barrel looking for ANYTHING they can find that MIGHT look bad. But people find the truth and post it. Like the word legal.

Apparently poorly or not adequately vetted in this problem laden program. There have been Senate hearings about loopholes apparently. Senate Judiciary Committee under Grassley is where the problems came out. This merits a much closer look. It’s selling essentially a “pathway to residence” in the USA. Trump’s son’s project the Trump Bay Street deal closed out on this one with visas for nearly 85% Chinese applicants

Actually his very pronounced words for months about both China and Immigration means it opens he himself up to deeper scrutiny in his own business deals. Wouldn’t you agree? Take issue with or anger toward the various news outlets that are starting to pick this up b

But he’s been pissed off in debates and rallies endlessly saying the Chinese screw us in trade deals, and with those ill gotten proceeds, cash rich, they in turn “buy up our country.” Interesting. Wouldn’t these kinds of globalist biz desks precisely perhaps put him at the forefront of that unwelcome situation?

OOO I don’t have a problem with him being looked at carefully. Please do, but making it LOOK like there is something wrong when there isn’t is the problem.

I actually appreciate it and hope more people check him out.

Sen Grassley stated about one month ago:

"it is widely acknowledged that the •••EB-5 program is riddled with flaws and corruption.••• Maybe it is only here on Capitol Hill—on this island surrounded by reality—that we can choose to plug our ears and refuse to listen to commonly accepted facts. The Government Accountability Office, the media, industry experts, members of congress, and federal agency officials, have concurred that the program is a serious problem with serious vulnerabilities. Allow me to mention a few of the flaws."

The problem we have is with UNLIMITED Student Visas that are filling our college classrooms,** internship visas, visa extensions, and H-1B Visa abuse by replacement of US workers and US workers having to train their replacements, etc.

Bringing money into the US from any Country for investment is not a problem. It generates jobs. Instead of sending money out of the country supporting foreign investment, money comes into the US.

It may be a pathway to residence for the investor, but if a businessman from ANY country is willing to bring in a sizable sum of money to invest in a businesss or start a new business, they usually are granted a way to relocate their family just like would occur with any employee transfer.

I have been a fierce critic of the H-1B visa program for months if not years—have probably posted a dozen or more articles myself. However, I don’t see this as a Yuuuuge story.

As an aside, my son, a computer engineer in San Jose, just lost his job 2 weeks ago due the elimination of his technology group—i.e., no fault of his own. So I am personally and painfully very aware of the H-1B Visa situation as my son is now competing with the Tech Industry Cheap Labor Express H-1B visa holders in the job market :(

**University of Illinois actually travels to China to recruit students...a state-funded school denies classroom seats to talented state residents because it is heavily recruiting foreign students... travel

I don’t know why Grassley would be focusing on this aspect of Visa program, there are far more widespread problems with other components. If it were not 3 a.m., I would be more specific...I will say that there have been several votes and positions of his that have surprised me lately.

The EB-5 Visa may have problems, but it pales in comparison to other GOP-establishment funded visa corruption.

Why do they need permanent residency in order to invest in a project?

I finally understand why Trump had to bribe Federal officials.
