The EB5 is not limited to investing in a business, and the “investors” may want/need to be present in shaping the business going forward...many foreign entrepreneurs come here to start a business—they want to be here...that creates jobs...
That is different than sending money to China to set up production facilities....buying goods from china that stock the shelves of Walmart.
If you are worried about green cards you should be far more concerned about other widespread programs such as the the refugee program and unlimited student visa program.
Senator Jeff Sessions has been an unwavering patriot regarding immigration and visas and he ENDORSED TRUMP. That is good enough for me.

I am worried about the other programs you mentioned. This one is new to me, and now that I’ve read some articles (not from this year, so not about Trump), I’m adding it to the others. All legal to start with, but all up for abuse, as well.

It is sad they can’t see that any contractor can legally build a business for this group as the 500K plus creating jobs and US citizenship is an Obama policy that no Republican has said crap about. In fact, both Rubio and Cruz voted to give Obama the ability to create more deals like this with their fast track votes. This is more of Obama’s trade BS. Selling LAND to CHINESE for CITIZENSHIP. They come in buy up land and boom, they get citizenship and Donald Trump and his cronies (the hosts) get rich.
OR to Arabs or Russians or South American Drug Lord or Mexico or anyone that has the money to buy American SOIL from the hosts.
Put this in perspective, 500K is about 50 acres in Texas. So for buying 50 acres for a development (does not have to be developed) under EB5 (IIRC EB4) and lasting for two years a foreign national has Citizenship and his family (cousins, aunt, uncles, etc).
This is the NEW illegal immigration scheme. Say for instance, a mexican here in America host an EB5 and sells 50 acres to a Mexican national from Mexico. The Mexican national comes over and stays here for two years and gets citizenship and then brings over his entire family from Mexico. We now have 30-40-50 -100 or 1000 new illegals here just from that one sell of 50 acres claiming kinship.
On the eastside of Seattle the majority of home buyers are Chinese. Above $500,000 of course. I was talking to one guy and he said a Russian wanted to buy his house but couldn’t get into a bidding war with all the Chinese. He tried in vain “Don’t sell to the Chinese - there are too many already!”
“Hey, $60,000 is $60,000!”
BTW - the rich Chinese come into this area buying the property. Then gain a green card and then citizens. Then when they start a company they are given preferred status - they are “minorities” don’t you know! So those rich Chinese take business away from Americans. I suppose I’m just bitter as it is happening to me. Not only are they getting hired for projects because it makes the other companies meet their minority status, but they are also cheaper as their parents buy them the expensive equipment so they can charge less.

Now after Cruz and Rubio voted for fast track don’t be surprised when the foreigners with 500K bring their own people here to work jobs on our soil. Obama or the next Pres can fast track any trade deal they can dream of and our lawmakers gave up their job of reviewing and even changing or rejecting entire deals that are not in our best interest(s). This is beyond me and why we need Trump. Our Senators and Congress types do not work for us. They are paid by PAC’s, elected by PAC’s, and we lose.
This is one of the all-encompassing reasons I’m backing Trump. In the name of global warming our government is experimenting with social engineering providing high density housing along bus and light rail routes and deliberately creating traffic congestion they call calming.
The Department of Transportation did a study and found Americans don’t want to move into these apartments but recent immigrants will. Recent immigrants are more apt to take public transportation. Here in California, the push is on for subsidized housing for the poor, their goal is 20 percent of the units. The Department of Transportation wants to interconnect these dense neighborhoods with high speed rail.
Then HUD came out and demands that every city turn in a yearly report on demographics to see if cities are taking care of the poor. HUD wants to override local zoning codes.
There are no American companies bidding on California’s high speed rail, they are all based in other countries. Countries that are attracting our companies with their lower corporate tax on foreign investments while we here in the U.S. saddle our companies with the worldwide system of taxes. This is the trillions of dollars Trump wants to bring home. We are using tax payer money for foreign engineering, the trains themselves, foreign busses and light rail trains.

In the LA Times excerpt below I suspect that EB-5 Visa is employed. I don’t have a problem with foreigners investing in America. I do have a problem with our government giving taxpayer money to them. In this article it does not state that these guys are from India, which is my assumption due to the fact they are expected to be hiding in India.

Two executives at a Los Angeles-based real estate development company and two of their employees have been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges they defrauded government agencies of millions of dollars in funds for housing low-income families.
The 67-page indictment says Salim Karimi and three others at Advanced Development and Investment Inc. engaged in a conspiracy to fraudulently obtain more than $50 million in loan proceeds for affordable housing projects in Chinatown, Hollywood, Glendale and elsewhere.
As part of the scheme, Karimi and others submitted fraudulent invoices that “significantly overstated” the true costs of framing, plumbing, drywall and other construction work at affordable housing projects that were built with taxpayer support, according to the federal grand jury indictment, which was filed in 2014 and unsealed earlier this week.
Oh noze! Working under the existing system to do more with what he has - him and about 98% of all the others with assets like he has built - despite the screwed up system that he berates. Would be stupid to throw money away or do less with it “to make a statement” (we already did similar by allowing Obama to be elected - twice... where did that get us?????).
