GOP PRESIDENTIAL BREAKDOWN - With a twist

Good morning Freepers!

As I was watching the TV as the returns came in, after Rubio bowed out. I started to think long term. With Kasich winning his home state and picking up his 1st win. Even with Kasich sticking around, it is for all sense and purposes a two man race between Trump & Cruz. The two people the Establishment despise the most.

The way I am reading it, by a vast majority, Republicans are giving the middle finger to the establishment, exit polls state this very clearly. I broke down some data using RealClearPolitics and CNN.com. I counted of the remainin four candidates(Rubio was involved in the races yesterday). Who came in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or ZIP in the races we have had so far. Something becomes very clear.

Only Donald Trump has finished every race 1st, 2nd or 3rd.

Donald Trump has the most state wins with 20.

Donald Trump is the only candidate that meets one of the requirements of the GOP rules of 8 or more states with a majority.

Donald Trump came in second 9 times and third only twice(Minnesota & DC).

Ted Cruz is no slouch either.

Ted Cruz has 8 wins and 16 2nd place finishes. He has the ground game and has nearly dominated all Caucus states that require a good ground game to win. His single 4th place finish was Vermont, other than that he came in top 3 in all the others.

Kasich has a singe 1st place win, his home state and did not make top 4 in 8 races, Carson/Jeb bumped him to 5th or beyond. Rubio had 3 wins but led the field with 3rd place finishes. Ted owns 2nd place with 8 wins and 15 2nd place finishes.

Came in second 9 times and third only twice(Minnesota & DC).

So looking forward. Kasich will prevent Cruz from getting more delegates and could prevent Trump from getting to the magic delegate count and thus bring us to a brokered convention where the Establichment can single handedly flush the votes of Americans and put their guy in . I think if they tried to do that it would be a disaster. The establishment better swallow their pride and folow the voters clear change in direction or they may get run out of DC by a mob with torches and pitchforks.

Candidate      First Place Second Place  Third Place Fourth Place Zip
Trump 20 9 2 0 0
Cruz 8 16 6 1 0
Kasich 1 4 6 12 8
Rubio 3 3 17 8 0

To Cruz and Trump supporters:

One thing we have in common is our anger against the GOP Establishment. I think it is time to bury the hatchet and get ready to team up because if given the choice, the establishment will do all in their power to block BOTH of them.

Rubio's minicule numbers will not put Ted over the top, remember not all of one candidate's voters will go lock step to an opponant after they drop out.

I am not advocating that Cruz step down. But I will say this. We (Trump & Cruz Supporters) better get a game plan ready for Cleveland.

BURY THE HATCHET OR THE ESTABLISHMENT WILL BURY IT IN OUR BACKS

Trump/Cruz. Cruz will finish second in voting, Trump better offer, Cruz better accept, or GoPe wins and Hillary is Prez.

You have been around here long enough to know that will happen. The tone is already better.

Once Obama nominates a commie to the SCOTUS I think the rank and file will start to consolidate. I think the path is getting much clearer.

We ALL hate Hillary. So, that is plenty to rally around.

True. I can’t believe how rude some people can be in victory. Look at Cruz’s speech on Rubio after Rubio dropped out. That’s the tone we need because we will need all the voters come the general election.

The GOPe brokered convention crap needs to be stopped. If the nomination goes to anyone that isn’t running or the top guy getting the most “combined delegates”. Meaning if no one hits 1237 it’s time to wheel and deal which means one of the top two will need to be the top of the ticket. Let Trump and Cruz wheel and deal to find out how they can hit 1237 delegates. Hell they can combine forces and then really put the GOPe on notice. Watch the GOPe not support them and then we’ll know what’s up with them...after all the times we were told to support the moderate for the good of the party/nation. We’ll see if they do the same.

Obama did NOT nominate a commie. He nominated a moderate. Which still sucks but the GOPe will probably like him.

As a Cruz guy, I think trump has essentially won. Congratulations. I’ll still vote Cruz in my meaningless state (WA), but I’ll get behind Trump the rest of the way

The key to this cycle has always been:

DEATH TO THE UNIPARTY!!!

True words

Trump and Cruz need to come together or all is for nought.

On Drudge there is a liner that says a GOP official stated that voters don’t pick the nominee “we do”. Let’s make sure that doesn’t happen

Cruz is necessary as VP for when Trump’s recidivism to liberalism starts manifesting itself in US policy. Trust, but verify and have a plan B, C, D....

Some Truth to that.
But look for a rule change where Cruz could not pledge his delegates in desperation to Donald and the GOP instead runs Bob Dole again or some other loser.

You really think Trump is going to put Cruz on the ticket? I guy who he claims is not constitutionally eligible to be president?

Trump will lose badly in the general.

Social conservatives are largely turned off by him as are many rank and file republicans (not the so called establishment), and are either disappointed or upset that a NY liberal can with the right words and faux outrage can stage a take over of the party. They will simply stay at home or hold their nose and vote for the Hilda-beast.

Me, I'm happy to bury the hatchet in Trump

Incorrect. I am a Cruz guy and will vote for Trump in the general if he gets the nod, which he should if he gets the most delegates.

While I agree that this nastiness only benefits the democrats, my problem with Ted Cruz is, above all, he is not constitutionally eligible to run. No matter how many young pundits are screaming otherwise since Obama ran, natural born meant born to 2 citizens in this country and nothing else, not ever the history of our country! The way everybody and his brother are insisting otherwise is positively Orwellian in my book.

What we need to is re-affirm the meaning of natural born, that it means what it always has, and further Article 2,1,5 defines the qualifications necessary to serve as President. When we Republicans finally won a majority with Eisenhower, we made sure that no president would serve more than two terms again, and it is up to us again to ensure that from this day forward, every president must meet 2,1,5 standards and PROVE with an official birth certificate that he (she) was born here and that both parents were citizens at the time of birth.

Further, stipulating that all presidents must be able to pass a top-level security clearance is a must. Had we had such a proviso in place, we never would have had Clinton in the White House.

Do we really want to do this to future generations? We compromised on this issue and got a terrible president, a president so terrible he makes some pretty terrible American presidents look good by comparison. No one, not even a freshman senator from Texas, is worth it. Let us nip this in the bud!

But I agree with you one thing, the establishment republicans are hurting themselves, especially down ticket, by these terrible attacks on Donald Trump. As a Trump supporter, I find myself wondering if I should vote for the Libertarian or Constitution party candidate instead down ticket.
