I moved from Europe to Queens as a child.. I know all about street culture. Honestly, it’s the constant bragging...but I realize he uses persuasion techniques to simplify the language and his message. It just doesn’t appeal to me personally. That said, I am more than impressed with his marketing and media skills.
I live in a very blue state, and know many middle market CEO’s who are obligated to give to left wing democrats. That’s just the price of doing business, whether they ideologically support these candidates or not. Of course they are asked, the PACS and politicians have professional fundraisers who do this for a living. I’m sure they often offer as well, particularly if legislation is being held up or lobbied for.
No. Reagan’s brother. They were both baptized Catholic, but brought up in another religion. Moon returned to the Catholic Church as an adult, but Ronnie didn’t.
“Moon” was Neil Reagan. Several years older then Ronald.
I have always hated Cruz’s voice. The fact that he’s never done anything to improve it indicated to me that he’s stubborn and arrogant.
What totally put me off Cruz is how, after Trump said that he would not allow people to “die in the street” without healthcare—meaning that the government should pay for the absolutely destitute—Cruz (and Steve Deace, and Ben Shapiro, and Andrew Klavan, etc.—started yelling that Trump “supports single-payer, socialized healthcare FOR EVERY AMERICAN.”
Where did he get that nickname, if you might know.
I read an article a few weeks ago about Robert Mercer, who is largely funding Cruz ATM. In 2013, when they (apparently his family is involved too) were deciding if they were going to bankroll Cruz for his Presidential campaign, they held numerous focus groups and had other studies done. In one instance, they took all of his speeches and made a “word salad” out of them. They noticed the word “evangelical” was missing, which apparently gave them pause, so it was decided that he needed to accentuate this phrase because the Christian Right was going to be his niche group. I was appalled at this blatant pandering for votes and I started looking at him differently. He’s been my 2nd choice for some time, but now I don’t think I could ever vote for such a disingenuous opportunist.
