I think tonight Ted is learning that if you want to give the Lord a really good laugh, just tell Him your plans.
I heard Trump battled ferociously in Vietnam...no...wait..
So if you’re a draft dodger around that age, is that what you are the rest of your life?
At least he was honest back then. I guess.

I like the first youtube comment:
Oh look he was a prick back then too...
I’m unfortunately 48 now.
I’d like to believe and i do feel like i am basically the same person i was when i was 18....except when i look in the mirror, which i try to avoid...
Ted was a overly ambitious nutjob narcissist when he was a freshman at Princeton and i believe he is still the same human empathy lacking narcissistic sociopathic lying nutjob today.
i believe that Ted Cruz would be an absolute NIGHTMARE as President of the United States.
No, people don't change from that unless they've undergone a fundamental transformation that transcends the experience of most people.
If Ted has not gone through a fundamental transformation, then this explains why he seems so disconnected when he speaks - like he's reading from a script in his head. It's because he is.
People can be like this and not be intentionally evil. Obama is this way too. It's not that there is a presence of evil, it's that what we would call 'good' ... i.e. a connection to humanity ... is simply not present.
What's left is just a robot with thought and desire. With no connection to other humans, I too would only want those things.
There is no way to prove that Cruz is this way, but as I was pointing out to JediTediJones earlier, this is not a court of law where a negative judgment takes away a man's rights and puts him in prison - where 'beyond a reasonable doubt' is the standard. It's not even 'preponderance of the evidence' as in a civil case where we would take something from him that is his and award it to another. This is a character judgment - the kind you make when you leave your kids with a babysitter - and if Cruz can't communicate that he's anything different, then even if he is different - even if he is 'connected and good,' it's on him if people see him as spooky, smarmy, arrogant and basically just another version of Jimmy Swaggart / Glen Beck.
The thing is, he speaks like a slimy preacher. Why don't the Cruz supporters pick up on that? Even if they just notice it and register it as i'm sure all Trump supporters notice and register his oddities and risks?
Are there any Cruz supporters out there who can say anything negative about Ted? I'll readily admit that Trump's ego is a risk, that he bends rules, that there are things he's not fully thought through ... yet. You don't go into the presidency prepared for it, perfect for it.
But this story may be a final nail in Cruz's coffin for me ... given that this is not a criminal case nor a civil case, but a choice about whether I want to leave my kids with a certain baby sitter or not. No F'ing way at this point does that guy touch my country.
and yet a 70 year old lifelong liberal can change in the past 10 months...
I admit this is a superficial analysis, but it seems that Ted Cruz has many of the same psychological pathologies as Obama - narcissism, lack of empathy, poor socialization, tendency to lie to maintain his persona - which stem from father abandonment issues, early life insecurities and lack of mature parenting.
I thank God that I changed A LOT since I was that age. I couldn’t even imagine.
I have been a Trump supporter from the beginning, so has the wife. As for Cruz...what I read about him here on FR he sounded like the second coming of Washington. So I listened. I listened to his speeches. Immediately my mind flashed back some 45 years earlier...where did I hear that tone and cadence? That’s right Marjoe Gortner! From then on all I could here was Marjoe on the stage shaking his fist and calling out the demons and selling prayer clothes on the side. Maybe that goes well in some parts of the country, But I have always steered clear of the snake handling types....Just something about them.
Oh yeah...Jim Baker, Jimmy Swaggart and a whole host of other holier than thou religious dudes shaking their fists at the devil and pawning off prayer clothes to little old ladies at five, ten, twenty bucks a pop.
Trump ain’t a preacher and never pretended to be. I would trust him more if I knew he drank on occasion but that’s all right cause I gave up drinking more than 20 years ago. He’s go the mojo. He’ll do just fine. As for Cruz...I hope he finds peace. I don’t know if the allegations are true, but it fits the pattern. He should just go quietly, without fanfare and go seek grace...maybe work as a pro bono lawyer for the legal aid society or something. Get some humility and come back when he’s right in the head and heart.
Ew. He had that same strange face on a gangly body. He was a know it all but unpleasant even as a teen. My son is that age and is so modest and gentle when he talks. Ted Cruz was insecure but in your face and a bit braggart. Those are bad qualities to combine.
When I was in college I ran into an alumnus of the same place who told me that people do change after high school but not at all after college.
At least the first part of this is definitely true.
