Remembering the soda machines w/glass bottles. There were two different types. The standing models (like a refrigerator) and the chest type, which resembled a rat-maze in a chest by which you moved the bottle through the rails which would hold the bottle cap above the rails and you would guide it to the exit point.

Strange that, bottled drinks are still favored over soda fountain type drinks. Will drink from a can but seldom from a soda fountain paper cup

Holy cow!

I remember those! They were rare when I was a kid, but I vaguely remember them.

I recall the chest type soda coolers with sliding tops. Filled with melted ice water. On hot summer days it was refreshing to dunk a ten year old arm to cool off until the owner yelled out, “Hey kid! Make up your mind, you goin’ swimming or you gonna buy a Coke?”

The chest type cooler was filled with chilled water. Had to dry the bottle off after you got it out of the machine.
