Sometimes I feel badly for Ben Carson. He worked hard in his run for president – and you know I can relate – and when his campaign ended unsuccessfully he decided to endorse Donald Trump. Now sure, when you endorse someone, it’s fair that people ask you to defend that person’s positions, records, public statements, etc. And Donald Trump provides plenty of material for people to ask about.

But when Dr. Carson went on The View last week, he didn’t get asked about anything Trump has actually done or said. Instead, Whoopi Goldberg put him on the spot by trying to hang on Dr. Carson something Trump has not done at all. It was something she completely made up.

I heard some of the exchange on the Joe Pags show last week. Dr. Carson remained cool calm and collected but since what's her name is a "star" she simply dismissed any counter he made to her proclamations. With no examples of what she was talking about because, well, what don't these "stars" know? Sadly, a lot of people (like 3 or 4) watch this garbage and buy whatever these ignorant faux-hosts spout.

One of the reasons Dr. Carson did not prevail as a candidate is that he didn’t even denounce Whoopi’s attacks on his character. He did defend Trump matter-of-factly and surgically (”What I saw was...”) rather than with any degree of solidarity above 51%. Politics ain’t beanbag. Carson essentially let Whoopi call him a liar on national tv and let it slide. If there was ever a time for righteous indignation, that was one of them.
