Caution is warranted when searching, buying or using anything on Amazon, as with Google, and other Silicon valley surveillance services.
Your complete history of interests are kept imperpetuity and shared with data brokers for commercial and govt data-mining, ie: the federal governments Behavioral Health citizen profile database that went into effect via Obamas Sept 15 2015 Executive Order.
If a product is offered for free, it is because youre really the product.
RE: Free?? Whats the catch?? Do I have to give my email address??
Actually this has nothing to do with Amazon, etc. At least directly. These ‘giveaways’ are strictly author/publisher driven.
An author with a number of books, especially books in a series, will put the first one online free, or at a reduced price, to get you hooked on the series so you’ll buy the rest.
There are services like Freebooksy and Robin Reads that authors use to get the word out.
Every thing is not a conspiracy. Most things are, yes, but not everything. And not this.

The purpose of my message was to remind individuals that Amazon collects and shares All of your search, purchase and download history and shares that with anyone they damn well want to, be it commercial or gov’t entities.
Some discrete prep minded persons may Not want Amazon, data brokers, and the gov’t to label their citizen profile as: “Preppers” as a result of downloading a “free” prepper survival guide at Amazon.
